A Late Night Visitor

Lilian: Well..it was a lovely service, I’m sure Greta would have loved it..

Jakob: You’re right, she would have..

Lilian: I know you’re exhausted love and it’s late but do you want me to make you something? A snack? Tea? 

Jakob: Tea would be great thanks babe.. Let’s change first yeah? I want to get out of these clothes. 

Lilian: Oh yeah for sure, not the comfiest clothes [soft chuckle] And you’ll be happy to hear I picked up more of that tea you like from the store yesterday.

???: Don’t be scared love, daddy just needs some alone time.. You’ll be safe here with your aunt and uncle.. I promise

???: [sniffle] O-okay daddy..

Lilian: I know babe, one teaspoon of sugar and a splashhh of milk..

-- doorbell rings 

Lilian: Hm? It’s 11:30..Were you expecting someone this late? 

Jakob: No.. Stay here, I’ll go check. They got past the gate, so it has to be someone in my family right? 

Lilian: God willing, yes.

Jakob: Can I.. Oh my god what are.. How did you get here.. Oh my god... Lilian! Forget the tea come here! 

Lilian: [huffs] I’m almost done though! What is it? W h o is it? Your sister? 

Jakob: Not exactly..

Lilian: Sophia?! How did she even get here?! Why is she alone?! 

Jakob: I..I have no idea.. Soph, sweetie did your daddy bring you here? Where is your daddy? 

Sophia: D-daddy comes back later.. [sniffle]

Lilian: Babe look.. There’s a note by the bag..

Jakob: Grab her things babe.. Come here cutie, you’re probably freezing.

Jakob: What does it say? Read it out loud. 

Lilian: [clears throat] “Jakob and Lilian, I know how horrible what I’m doing is, but I was left with no other option. Having Sophia around is too much to bear, she is a constant reminder of Greta, and how horrible I was to her. You two are her favorite, I know she will be happy with you two. I will be leaving the country for a while, and by the time you read this I will already be on my way. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back. Tell Sophia her mother and I loved her very much. -Victor”

Jakob: That. Prick. I’m going to find him, and kill him. I swear it. 

Lilian: No. Let him go. We’ll take great care of her, just like if she was one of ours. Greta would have wanted it like this.. You know that. We’ll take care of all the legal things during the week. There’s paperwork in her bag that will help with all of it.. He really had this all planned out. 

Jakob: I..I suppose so.. Well, you hear that Soph? You’re one of us now, a Stolt.

The Royal Wedding Display

This morning, Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Stolt visited the not yet open to the public Royal Wedding Display at Staden Palace. The Duke was unable to attended the viewing due to a case of the flu. The wedding outfits of The Duke and Duchess of Stolt will be open for public viewing next week.

This is the first time since her wedding day that The Duchess of Stolt has laid eyes on her ceremony dress. The dress was designed by Savaria’s very own Emily Burton, and took her team six months to make. The lace on the dress is a recreation of Her Majesty’s lace from her wedding gown, with part of the original lace sewn into the left sleeve. It was a touch that was specially requested by The Duchess. Royal sources say that The Queen was incredibly moved by the gesture. 

It has also been revealed that the tiara worn by The Duchess, a personal favorite of the late Queen Silvia, was given to Her Royal Highness as a lifetime loan on the day of her wedding to The Duke.

The King confers Dukedom on Prince Jakob

His Majesty The King is very pleased to announce that His Royal Highness The Prince Jakob and Ms. Lilian Ramirez will receive a dukedom upon their marriage this Spring. In addition to announcing the Dukedom, Prince Jakob and Ms. Ramirez and pleased to release two unseen pictures from their engagement shoot last Fall. 

Upon their marriage, Prince Jakob will be henceforth known as His Royal Highness, The Duke of Stolt. 

Ms. Ramirez will then become Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Stolt. The King is also pleased to announce that any future children the couple have will be styled “His/Her Royal Highness, Prince/Princess __ of Stolt”.

His Majesty has also decided to go against tradition, and bestow a curtesy title onto Ms. Ramirez’s son, Axel. Upon his mothers marriage to Prince Jakob, he will be known as The Right Honorable, The Earl of Gömställe.

A Very Merry Christmas 

Merry Christmas! With the end of all the political unrest, normal royal duties and appearances have resumed just in time for Christmas. This morning, Members of The Royal Family joined Their Majesties’ for Christmas Service at St. Frederick's Chapel in Hemstad. St. Fredrick’s Chapel is also the venue where the wedding of Prince Jakob and Ms. Ramirez will take place this Spring. 

For a few minutes after the service, The King and Queen participated in a walkabout with their family before returning to their country home, Winden House. After Their Majesties’ departure, the younger royals were to set loose and were able to greet the crowds. No interaction with the public has been allowed since the beginning of the war as a safety precaution for not just The Royal Family but for the public as well.

This year, Their Majesties’ invited Ms. Lilian Ramirez and her son Axel, to the services and the family activities that followed. Ms. Ramirez and her son also stayed with The Royal Family during their time out of the public eye. This is her first official appearance with The Royal Family, and it will not be her last before the wedding in the Spring. 

Today's walkabout was the first time the public got a glimpse at Lady Sofia since her appearance at Platz House on the day of her birth. Lady Sofia walked alongside her parents as they greeted people in the crowds and handled it like a pro. The Earl and Countess of Von-Haunt told a group of onlookers, “She was actually very well behaved during the service. Not a peep, I guess we got off lucky, unlike my sister.”

The crowds also got a rare glimpse of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Oskar and Princess Marie during today’s walkabout. This is The Crown Princess’s and The Duke of Windslar’s  first public appearance after the announcement that The Crown Princess is expecting their third child. The people in the crowd came ready, with gifts and flowers to congratulate Their Royal Highnesses on the baby. Excitement for the baby is already in full swing. It was that little boost the public needed to get through the last bit of the war.

When asked about how the children behaved during the Service, The Crown Princess said, “There was an incident with a dropped bunny that cause some... upset, but was resolved quickly thanks to my husbands’ quickness. Disaster averted”.

[story] Exclusive Royal Engagement Interview

Int: First of all, I want to congratulate you both on the engagement. What a happy time it must be for you and your families. 

Jakob: Very happy time yes thank you. 

Int: Now I have to ask the question everyone will be thinking, how did you propose? You said you were in Hemstad? 

Jakob: Yes actually, we were at our cottage near Dresden. It was a simple night in with Axel, he helped actually. I’ll let Lilian explain [chuckle]

Lilian: He did. [chuckle] It was very sweet. They were both held up in the kitchen all day and never let me in to see what they were working on. Then later while Jakob and I were watching television, Axel came up with a homemade cookie cake with the words “turn around” on it and at first I was like.. That’s a rather odd thing to put on a cake. So I turned around and there Jakob was, on one knee in front of the couch. I think I actually burst into tears the second I saw him and well..the rest is history. 

Int: That’s very sweet indeed. Now, how did you two meet? 

Jakob: It was completely by chance actually. I was visiting the children’s hospital Lilian used to work at for an engagement and she was one of the nurses I met during the day. We got to talk alone for a little while about various hospital things and it just snowballed to me asking for her number.  [chuckle]

Int: And how long after that did you meet her son? 

Lilian: It was about a year after we started dating that he met Axel. Axel was very little at the time and I wanted to ease him into it. Which I’m glad we did it that way cause now they’re closer than I thought was possible.

Int: Now Lilian when you two started dating, how aware were you of the.. undertaking it would be in marrying a member of The Royal Family? Was that ever a concern? 

Lilian: I think..at the start I didn’t think of it as much because it was so new but as time went on, I definitely felt a sense of “oh lord..this is intense”. Luckily we were able to keep it quiet for a very long time, but since I went to the polo match it’s been drastically different..but Jakob has been an excellent teacher and in the beginning i struggled with the “will I be able to do the job correctly” thing but now after months of being taught and trained..about of those type of concerns are gone. Obviously life will drastically change after the wedding too, and I’ll have to adjust to a whole new rule book and way of life. But I’m lucky to have Jakob and the in laws I do because they’ve been great teachers too.

Int: Speaking of your future in laws..have you both met each other's families or is that something that still has yet to be done? 

Lilian: We’ve met each other's families, yes, and his family is just so welcoming and warm. Which I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting but they are just lovely. 

Jakob: Her family is just as lovely honestly, her mum is an excellent cook as well [chuckle].

Int: And have you met The King and The Queen? What was that like? 

Lilian: It was nerve wracking at first cause you know I’ve grown up watching them on television and everything so meeting them in person was intimidating but they are just so friendly and welcoming. I’ve met them a few times now actually.

Jakob: She’s been getting invited to all the luncheons, the dinners and anything else family related so that’s been nice of my parents to do that. It just shows their support really.

Int: Now Lilian..you are now having to give up your first true love, your job. What has that process been like for you? 

Lilian: You know..I think the hardest part was having to say goodbye to all the amazing people I worked with and got to help. I did promise I would pop in as much as I could and invite them over for tea and such but it’s not the same as the rushing around with them on the NICU floor. They are all super happy for us both. It was sweet, my last day was Friday and they threw me this big going away party at the hospital. There were lots of happy and sad tears going on but at the end of the day, Jakob is worth it.

Int: Well I want to thank you both for your time. Your Royal Highness, Ms. Ramirez, thank you for sitting down with me and congratulations again. I can’t wait to watch the wedding next year. 

Jakob: Thank you, that's very kind of you.

His Royal Highness The Prince Jakob and Ms. Lilian Ramirez are engaged to be married. His Majesty released an official statement this morning:

The wedding will take place next spring. Further details about the wedding will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms. Ramirez became engaged in Hemstad earlier this week. Prince Jakob sought and received blessings from His Majesty and Mr. Ramirez. The couple will live in Platz House near Dresden Palace.

Elvira: Rick, you need to promise me you are going to be pleasant and nice to this girl..I’m  actually impressed by her. A single mother who has a great career..it’s very telling of her character. She seems to be hardworking and family oriented. Perfect for Jake..he needs someone like that.

Henrik: El I’m sure she’s a fine person, but think about what the press will do to the two of them? To that poor boy of hers? I’m looking out for our son El. 

Footman: Sorry to interrupt Your Majesties, but Prince Jakob and Miss. Ramirez are here.

Henrik: Thank you Jimmy, send them in..

Elvira: Hello my dear..glad you two made it here safely, the storms just won’t let up. 

Jakob: Driving slow is the key I suppose..[soft chuckle] Mum, Dad...this is my girlfriend, Lilian Ramirez..

Lilian: It’s very nice to meet you both, thank you for inviting me here..it’s a beautiful place.

Elvira: Thank you dear..wait - I know you. We met at the hospital during my visit right?

Lilian: Yes Your Majesty..I didn’t want to say anything that day since that day was about the children

Henrik: Quite right..well, it’s nice to meet you Lilian. Please, let's sit.

Henrik: So, our son tells us you are a nurse..what inspired that? 

Lilian: Well I’ve always been fascinated with science and all things medical. Medical school was out of the question since I had Axel so the next best thing was being a nurse, and I love it. 

Elvira: That’s right, you have a son. How old is he? 

Lilian: He’s 5 ma’am, he’s about to start Kindergarten this fall. 

Jakob: He’s the most amazing little boy, he’s very intelligent, like his mother. He also loves horses like you father, he’s a good rider. 

Elvira: Well that’s nice isn’t it Rick? How long have you two been together? Quite a while I’m assuming, our children don’t usually introduce us to their significant others unless it’s been a while.

Jakob: 3 years mum, we’ve been able to keep it under wraps really well. 

Henrik: 3 years? That’s quite serious isn’t it? Have you two discussed the future at all? I imagine you have in those two years right?

Lilian: Yes sir, we talk about it a lot actually since it’s not just our future, it’s my sons as well. 

Elvira: I hope it’s not incredibly rude to ask this..but what happened to Axel’s father? Would he be able to come back and..cause trouble?

Lilian: No ma’am, he’s been dead for about 6 years..he was killed in the line of duty while I was pregnant with Axel. 

Elvira: Oh...oh my god I’m so sorry. That must have been horrible for you..

Henrik: I’m sorry that happened to you..his service to his country is greatly appreciated. 

Lilian: It was rough at first, but then I met your son not long after and he was a tremendous help. Thank you Your Majesties, that means alot. 

Henrik: You’re welcome. So..you’re a nurse. That’s a great profession..there can never be too many nurses. 

Lilian: Thank you sir, but yes you’re right about that. There is always a need for extra hands.

Henrik: Now..I hope you realize that if you ever marry our son..your career would have to come to an end..but I would hope he’s told you this already. 

Elvira: Oh Henrik don’t scare the poor girl off before anything is even certain..

Lilian: Yes, I’m aware sir. We’ve talked about that already and I have already said that whenever the time comes, I will turn in my resignation. 

Jakob: We’ve already talked about everything like that dad, she knows everything and is alright with it. 

Henrik: Well I’m glad to hear it, I was worried for a moment. With that being said..I hope I can count on you and your son to join us for the family polo match next week yes? 

Lilian: Oh yes sir, thank you. Axel will be so thrilled, he loves anything to do with horses. 

Elvira: Oh! Tea’s here. Enough talk, let’s drink. Thank you Jimmy.
