Welcome to this little week event, we are here to celebrate the pairing formed by Markus and Simon. It is my first time hosting an event, I hope it will please everyone participating in it! And I want to give a big thanks to everybody who suggested prompts and then voted for their favorites, without you, this event would not be happening!

► As it says the focus of your creations has to be about Markus/Simon as a romantic pairing.

► Any media is accepted, the sky is the limit!

► The use of generative artificial intelligence is NOT allowed. (I block on sight.)

► I will personally reblog everything on my blog and my bluesky as long as you tag #simarkusweek or myself directly in your post.

► Everything will also be reblogged in the Simarkus Tumblr Community by yours truly unless you do it first! (Do not post directly there otherwise people won't be able to reblog it and people not in the community won't see it!)

► And everything will also be linked in the Simarkus Discord server unless you do it first, and I will make sure to tell people to go reblog and comment.

Summary:

Simon slowly begins to pluck at his guitar again. Markus watches his hands, the fingers on his right hand nimbly pulling at the strings and his left contorting into their chord patterns. It seems to loop endlessly, Simon keeping a steady rhythm and even humming under his breath, barely audible over the guitar. He's a bit mysterious, Markus discerns. There's so much he wants to ask. The music distracts him, though, and he doesn't. - Markus grows interested in the guitarist that keeps occupying his practice room.

Day #3 - Sickness/Whump FOR @littlehaize 's SIMARKUS WEEK!!! "Come and drink some tea, don't worry about me"

How long do you think an android with a replaced thirium pump from an already dying out body can last?

Apparently a good five years, even when the body has dealt with trauma along the way there.

But Markus believed he'd be fine

"SOMEONE GET A GODDAMN MEDIC NOW!"

He assumed.

There were various muffled voices that he couldn't process, dull, luminescent glows above him with shadows making the lights flicker. Vibrations below indicating that his pliant body is being taken somewhere

As a test of strength, Markus tried to move his leg, just by the smallest inch.

̲E̲̲R̲̲R̲̲O̲̲R̲!!!

His body sparks, forcing the leg to go back down again as Markus internally is relentlessly for need to move.

Where am I?

What's going on?

He tried to open his eyes but couldn't fully do so, as all he could see was a message.

///VISUAL ACUITY TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Huh?

What the hell was happening to me?

And for a few more seconds, in these fleeting moments, there was a crackled, static voice he could make out from his audio processors. A voice in which held a horrified sob.

A sob that caused an extra pump to Markus' chest.

When Markus had risen from stasis, his could feel his eyes twitching, reworking itself to be able to open his heterochromic lens. Before him, he was laid on a rather comfortable metal bed, wiring inputted into different parts of his limbs and ports.

He could also see thirium being injected from a needle, a monitor next to him showing the steady increase in blue blood balance.

Was he....in a hospital?

At least the android equivalent?

Slowly, Markus used his arms to make himself raise from the table he had been lying on, the rest of his plastic-like body waking itself up. With the equipment and layout of the room, loneliness started to creep up through his synthetic skin, that same restless feeling beginning to-

"1 day, 16 hours, 28 minutes, and past 30 seconds."

The RK200's ears perked by the slightest in hearing that voice, turning his head in the direction.

Across the left side of Markus was Simon sitting on solid bin for a stool, face locked on Markus, hands holds together in prayer, hunched as if in anticipation, impatience.

"Simon..."

Only a mumble could be called out to the PL600 as he rose from his seat and went over to Markus, kneeling to his side instantly as he held the deviant leader's hand in shaking motion.

And immediately, he began to cry into that hand.

A lot of things were happening that Markus couldn't process fast enough.

"Wha- Simon? What happened to me? Where are we? What's.. What?" Markus spewed out for answers to cure his ever growing confusion. He reaches his right hand over to run through Simon's hair, stroking the blond strands as he let Simon break in tears before him.

He hated seeing his boyfriend cry.

And knowing it was because of him, even if he was hurt, it still sucks.

Markus waited out for some time, keeping quiet and silently comforting Simon. Once Simon had finished his weeping, pale fingers squeezed the tanned ones, with Markus slinking his right hand down.

"It happened after your speech when you began to limp. Josh had been closes to catch you and kept on shaking you for attention," Grimacing at the memory, Simon continued, "but you didn't respond. We had to get you to mechanics."

So that's why my body was going out on me

"And? I was out for almost two days, Simon, what did they say?"

"They had to replace the bottom half of your legs...and your thirium pump."

"Oh."

That's what Markus can reply with because he hadn't said much about his body. About how he's even here.

But even then, he should've said more to prevent how Simon was gonna react.

"'Oh?'" LED went yellow. "'Oh?' Markus? Really?"

"Simon-"

"When were you going to tell me that your heart was faulty? That you forcefully replaced it? That you have had been living with a damaged thirim pump and went your way miraculously fighting for the life of other android, for taking literal bullets to the chest, and a fucking explosion?!?!"

Rare times when Markus, someone who can produce a constant string of explanations and reasons with no hesitance or mistake, can have no words to defend himself now. No words to stop Simon from devastation.

"I'm not any better than you are, but for God's sake Markus, you could've died right then and there. You didn't tell me anything about this, this- Markus, you said we have to be honest to each other."

"I did and I was honest with you."

"But this?"

"I..." Closing his eyes, Markus hung his head low, needing to inform Simon properly of how this came to be. Of how he made it.

"I had to. I didn't tell you much about the night of the junkyard, remember that? I didn't say much more because...I'm guilty."

Simon's rigid frame softened, his thumb soon rubbing Markus' knuckles.

"Everyday, I knew that I needed to get fixed soon, that I needed to make repairs, but there was a thought I had. Why did I get to survive while the other's died? How come I made it out so...selfishly?"

Markus brings his right hand in front of him, continuing as he observed. "Have their body parts served as a reminder of what I had to go through. That by this sort of sacrifice they had given me just so I can escape hell, using their parts serves to honor them. To honor the fallen and the ones who weren't given the same chance."

When he puts it like that, Simon couldn't stay mad for longer. An unnecessary sigh escaped the pure blue eyed android as he laid his head on Markus' lap.

"You care so much."

"I do. Is that bad?"

"Never." Simon shifts his head to the side so he could gaze up at Markus, their eyes meeting contact. "You caring is why we have anything. It's why we're still fighting for freedom, and it's why you have a soul in you."

A pure smile danced upon the lips of a powerful android.

"You think I have a soul?"

"Solicitous and valorous."

"I'm sorry."

"It's...okay. We can..talk about it once the mechanics get here."

"After seeing your face? I want to."

With Simarkus Week starting tomorrow, I finally made the AO3 collection right here: SimarkusWeek2025

To add your work in it, you have to go in "Associations" when you are creating a new work, then you need to entry the name "SimarkusWeek2025" in "Post to Collections / Challenges", and select the first thing that appears that says "Simarkus Week 2025 (SimarkusWeek2025)", and your work will be added!

If you encounter any trouble adding your work, please contact me and I'll do my best to help you!

You can of course add any work as AO3 doesn't only hold writing, but images and videos.

The collection is unmoderated, meaning when you add your work it appears right away without needing my approval as the collection's owner, but if I spots people adding anything that does not concerns the challenge, or goes against the AO3's TOS and policies, I will remove it and block the people.

I will also make a masterpost once the week is over (maybe with some delay, I'm unfortunately not a machine), with links to every tumblr, ao3, bluesky and other platforms (one link per work) as long as you tagged #simarkusweek / #simarkusweek2025, myself, or is posted directly in the collection! Could have been worse

After a disastrous meeting, Markus is tired and wants to go back to New Jericho. But of course, not everything could always go according to his plans.
