Hello ma ladies, femmes and gents!
Way before all the drama that's currently happening in my Legacy of Hearts thing, Rue Thorn was just a girl with a serious love for music. She rounded up her besties from school – Cassandra Goth, Zelmira Gomes, and Luz Lopez – and they started a band called Midnight Echos. Rue was the singer and ripped it up on first guitar, Cassandra handled second guitar, Zelmira rocked the keyboard, and Luz totally killed it on drums. Those were the days – just a bunch of friends jamming, writing songs, and figuring out their sound.
Unfortunately, they won't be able to make it to #edgewavefest this year, due to obvious reasons. (IYKYK. If not, read and find out!)
Check them out under the cut! Let me know what you guys think!

Midnight Echos is an all-teen Sim band that crafts a unique sound by blending raw energy with dreamy, atmospheric textures. Fronted by the charismatic Rue Thorn, a young woman yearning for the shadows but bursting with a contradictory zest for life, the band creates a soundscape that draws from ethereal, rock, punk, alternative rock, new wave, quirky, ballad, and metal influences. Rue's guitar riffs and haunting vocals are interwoven with Cassandra Goth's atmospheric guitar work, Zelmira Gomes's ethereal keyboard melodies, and Luz Lopez's driving drum rhythms, resulting in a sound that's both melancholic and surprisingly uplifting. Their music explores themes of teenage angst, romantic longing, the allure of the supernatural, and finding beauty in the darkness.
"Ephemeral Echos," Midnight Echos' debut mini-album, is a captivating introduction to the raw talent and unique sound of this all-teen Sim band. This 5-track EP perfectly captures the band's signature blend of raw energy and dreamy textures, showcasing their diverse influences ranging from ethereal and rock to punk, alternative rock, new wave, and metal.
Led by the magnetic Rue Thorn, whose yearning for the shadows clashes with a vibrant zest for life, Midnight Echos explores themes of teenage angst, romantic longing, supernatural allure, and the captivating beauty found in darkness. From the blistering energy of "Paper Walls," their breakout hit, to the raw emotion of "Vampire Heartbeat" and the haunting soundscapes of "Ghost in the Machine," the EP takes listeners on a journey through melancholic depths and surprising moments of upliftment. "Shadow Bloom" offers a glimpse of fragile beauty emerging from despair, while "Crimson Kiss" is a wistful ballad tinged with forbidden desire.
"Ephemeral Echos" is more than just a collection of songs; it's a sonic tapestry woven from Rue Thorn's raw guitar riffs and haunting vocals, Cassandra Goth's atmospheric guitar work, Zelmira Gomes's ethereal keyboard melodies, and Luz Lopez's driving drum rhythms. It's a promising debut that establishes Midnight Echos as a band to watch, capturing the fleeting beauty and profound emotions of youth.

The world’s most advanced Wrist-based sensor module: Simband Open Reference Sensor Module @VoiceOftheBody #Samsung S.A.M.I. Health Platform.
Samsung's open platform goes significantly beyond the parameters of Apple Healthkit or Google Fit: as well as being a platform for developers to share data, Samsung's initiative adds a hardware infraestructure and the capacity for developers to share and build upon one another's algorithms.
DIFFERENTIATION: create a software and a HARDWARE PLATFORM: allows developers to be able to manipulate sensors and look at battery life and create and innovate in that using a new hardware infrastructure.
Samsung launched it because they wanted developers to help them with things like how many sensors can we put in, what type of sensors, how do they improve the battery life, the usability, the overall experience.
*S Health app began as a consumer fitness app. Now is moving into the chronic disease and medical side. It will work on the enterprise side.

Samsung announces a new SimBand Wearable: A Fitness-Focused Gear S #tech
Earlier this year, Samsung had announced the Simband, which was a wearable Band for collecting all the information about your body, and sending it to the SAMI Cloud Platform for analyzing. (more…)
Everything you need to know about the Samsung Simband, including impressions and analysis, photos, video, release date, prices, specs, and predictions from CNET.
While I appreciate Samsung’s need to get out ahead of Apple’s expected announcement of their healthbook app, viewing portions of the keynote address showed Samsung’s clear disconnect with how wearables are currently being used, and even more concerning — their lack of understanding in the health metrics that doctors actually care about.
Nothing really new here. Samsung is well known for throwing incomplete products at the wall just to see what sticks.
I'm more interested in how Google Fit and Apple Health are going to fair. Especially since the FDA made it clear that Apple's Health app in itself would be exempt from FDA certification.
