Right? I wanna see my best friend’s extreme pear shape. She has very wide hips, a barbie doll type waist, and a small chest. That would make a beautiful sim!
That sounds gorgeous! I vote to put you in charge of marketing the game. :P If they had actual players creating the sims for these renders there would be such an upswing of diverse imagery. Not only body shapes but PoC sims as well.
dramallamadingdang replied to your post:not to defend ea, because they're very problematic and to some extent you definitely have a point, but when i look at the renders sims4news posted today i see a lot of variation in the women's body types.
I love how the nerdy guy has women rubbing up against him. Dreaming much, devs? *rolls eyes* And yep, of COURSE, the larger one is getting odd looks. Whatever! I’m not buying the game, so I don’t really care all that much.

Ah, putting the ability to make different shapes in the game is one thing. Putting differently-shaped women in the promo images? Entirely another thing. Even though I’d bet that a good chunk of the people who play this game are larger females.
I'm still on the fence about whether or not I'll buy the game, but I have to say that the promo images are pushing me towards piracy if I do decide to go for it. I'm still excited for the CAS possibilities, but I'm not going to put money towards EA's continual head-up-assery. And I absolutely agree, if your fanbase is primarily women - of no doubt diverse backgrounds and genetic makeup - you should probably curb the misogynistic fat-shaming tendencies. Just saying.
