Promise’s first comeback “Heart2Heart” has been released!
Promise is a South Korean girl group formed by Simship Entertainment through the idol competition show 'Simdol School'. They debuted on December 2, 2018, with their first album ”Glass Shoes". They came back with their first comeback "Heart2Heart" on April 8, 2019. The group is composed of 9 members: Yoona, Renee, Namjoo, Maria, Chaerin, Hanji, Boyoung, Aeri, and Sunhwa.
“Heart2Heart” is a girlish-pop orchestral track, much like their debut. Unique features not usually featured in typical K-POP songs such as the melodic violin sections are prevalent throughout the song to give it it's unique Promise sound! The music video follows the 9 girls throughout their life at school as they earnestly sing about their dreams and promise to work hard to rise up.
As Simdol School has come to a close, we conducted an exclusive interview with the shows first place winner before her debut with Promise. She also took part in her own solo photoshoot to go along with the interview.
Interviewer: So Yoona, congratulations on winning first place on Simdol School! How did you feel when you found out you won first place?
Yoona: I was really surprised! I wasn’t expecting to win the first place, and I couldn’t stop crying. My friends was so happy for me, and they supported me through the show. I was very overwhelmed in other words.
Interviewer: What are you most looking forward to being a member of Promise?
Yoona: I am excited to be the center, but also to perform with my new members. The other girls are so nice and I am so happy with the lineup.
Interviewer: Is there anything you’re nervous about in regards to your debut?
Yoona: I think it will be hard to handle all the pressure. My family is watching my every performance, interview, show appearance… My mom was in tears when I called her. And since I represent RedStrike, they expect perfection. Many people expect that I am doing my best every all the time, which will be hard.
Interviewer: Do you have a message for the rest of your Promise members?
Yoona: I want to thank them for all the support, love and kindness they have showed me. Honestly, I couldn’t get a better lineup for the group. Let’s work hard for our debut!
Interviewer: Thank you for taking the time out of your day to do this interview with us! Finally, do you have a message you would like to say to your fans who are waiting for your debut?
Yoona: Thank you so much for the support! I never thought I would get this far in Simdol School. I will make you proud, and please support Promise as a whole. Again, thank you and hugs and kisses from Promie’s Yoona.

'Shake It' is such a fun song! In the music video, although the setting is a school environment, I felt like the vibe of the song was summery and grown up. It's also very colorful and everything pops out at the viewer, which is just my kind of music video! I tried to show that in my outfit choice. I'm confident in my decisions for my outfit, with a red top to pop against blue shorts. I kept my hair dyed pastel blue because it seemed so perfect for the bubbly, summertime feel of 'Shake It.' I felt really grown up and much older than I am in all my pictures, which is the look I was going for. I'm so excited to reveal the outfit!
