“You should lay down, you hit your head pretty hard.” Samantha to Simon

“I’m fine,” He immediately bit back, shooting upright from the sitting position he had been in previously. Only to immediately regret it upon realizing that he was definitely not okay, the sudden movement resulting in a dizzy spell that sent him tumbling right back down into the position he was in before.
Resting his head on his knees, he took a deep breath.
The false conductor’s attempts to kill him were getting uncomfortably closer to working, clearly. He had been injured in one of the freak car ejections that had been plaguing himself and Grace lately, and found himself totally separated from the latter.
She probably thought he was dead.
The thought gave him a jolt, and he looked up again, inadvertently making eyecontact with Samantha. The visible concern he could see from her made him pause, and he kept staring at her for a few moments, before abruptly snapping out of it.
“I can’t stay here. I need to find Grace.” He told her, standing up much more carefully this time. However he was still unsteady on his feet, and the back of his head was killing him where he’d slammed against the bridge outside.
He could handle it. He really had no choice, did he?
