It's basically just Simon getting too relaxed and not noticing he didn't fantasize about brushing Merlot's hair out of his face, he actually did it. He'll probably be mortified about it for the rest of the week; Merlot wants to dig a hole in the soil and die rn, he's supposed to be the one teasing and poking Simon's side, so what is this outrageous disrespect to the status quo?

The story of lilac, according to Greek mythology, begins with a beautiful nymph named Syringa (lilac’s botanical name). Captivated by her beauty, Pan, the god of the forests and fields, chased Syringa through the forest.  Frightened by Pan’s affections, Syringa escaped him by turning herself into an aromatic bush – the flower we now refer to as lilac. In the language of flowers, purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love.
