Your Social Distancing Dating Guide

Not too surprising but people are still dating. Even during all of this, let me remind you that people were making a way to get things done. Now that the world is opening up a bit - I think we all can use some one-on-one time with someone that likes you. I mean let’s face it - WE ARE DYING FOR AFFECTION. Remember the RONA is still real so no inside dates but here are a few outside dates to try out. Seeing as I am predicting that we will be closed down again by August better go outside now.

Here are some ideas:

Bike Riding

I seriously need an influencer membership to Citi bike the way I have been riding these past months. Download the Citi bike app, grab a bike and ride around your city. This is not only fun but you can also get some exercise.

Park Dates - Picnics

We’ve all seen the photos of the park dates - people are getting to the picnic bag heavy. You don’t have to go all out. Grab a sandwich, a few bottles of wine & enjoy your time in the park. Make sure to bring a game - UNO is always fun. You do not have to have an “Instagram Picnic” to have fun.

Beach Dates

The parks are open and so are the beaches. If you live near a beach take advantage of this time. Since traveling is over for this year let’s pretend that these beaches are the islands even if they are not clear.

A Walk Around Town

It’s very simple. A walk is fun. Meet up in a part of town that is not as familiar to you and explore. Download the app Urban Archive and see what things used to look like back in the early 1900s. If you are a social studies geek trust me this app is for you.

Remember dating is a little different now - here are some tips:

We have all been in the house for some months now, some alone - dating will not be easy and very awkward at first. Don’t expect your date to fully be 100%. Take it slow and ease into things.

It’s okay to cancel if you are not 100% ready to take that next step. Be open with your communication.

Vocalize how you feel to your date. You will be very surprised that many times he or she is feeling the same way.
