Arrival and Security
Security is quick but thorough. Arrive on time — they won’t admit you more than 15 minutes early. Bring only essentials: IDs, marriage license, and witness. All guests must enter together.
Marriage License Presentation
Have your license ready (issued at least 24 hours earlier). This is also a great time for candid shots during check-in — the anticipation is priceless.
Paperwork and Payment
Sign required documents and pay the $25 ceremony fee (card or money order). Your witness signs here too. Then head to the waiting area for more relaxed pre-ceremony moments.
The Waiting Area
Anticipation builds here. I often capture couples sharing quiet words, laughing with guests, or simply soaking it all in.
The Ceremony
Just 2–5 minutes, but deeply personal. Whether exchanging rings or not, I focus on genuine expressions and fleeting moments.
Photography Session
Post-ceremony, take advantage of nearby spots: the Supreme Court steps, Municipal Building arches, Brooklyn Bridge, or City Hall Park. See real examples in my City Hall sample gallery.
Guest Limits & Timing
Four guests allowed inside (not counting you and your partner). Expect 45–90 minutes from arrival to exit.
