THE POWER OF NOSTALGIA ❤️ . We all have association with things, food, drinks and smell that takes us back to certain moments in our life and instantly brighten our mood. I remember being allowed to drink cold drinks like Thumbs up, Goldspot and Limca on special times. It was always joyous occasions, I clearly remember drinking ice cold drinks with straws in hot afternoons outside dhabhas whilst having Tandori Roti and Tarka daal in the car with my family. Sometimes we even got given Masala Thumbs Up with lots of lemon in it. Today whilst I was cycling I came across this Indian shop in Glagsow and it had wonderful things like sarso ka tel, parachute coconut oil, Little Heart biscuits and loads of other things that took me straight back to my childhood. It’s funny how small little things can fill us with immense joy and gratitude. These two bottles of sugary syrups certainly made my day and I sang along cycling my way back home! A Beautiful Door❤️ Whilst it is true that this pandemic has had a terrible impact on everyone I still can’t ignore the good that has come out of this lockdown. I have had so much time to enjoy my surroundings in peace and quiet, everyday I have been mesmerised by the beauty around me. Whilst I was walking back home I came across the wonderful door, how beautiful is the green and the wreath of flowers. I don’t know why but things like this make me fill with joy. Glagsow is such a beautiful city to live in and every now and again my heart fills with gratitude for having been able to live this wonderful life and enjoy all its perks. The Beauty of Simplicity As as artist it is extremely important for me to constantly move forward and continue learning. The universe always inspires me every single day with something or the other. Today when I bought my take away coffee it came in this beautiful organic cup with a tiny red heart at the top of it to help stop the coffee spilling and to keep it warm. It is such a simple idea yet so effective and the pop of the red heart makes it look so beautiful. For some reason the coffee tasted so much better just because it was topped with love. The universe finds wonderful ways to bring us joy and happiness every single day. We just need to be willing to accept it. This is the final product I created using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator! I used my tablet to trace my drawings, and then added texture, arrows and text. I was able to shift my drawings around on the computer to create a composition that made more sense than the composition I initially had in my drawings. I love working digitally because it’s easier for me to move things around and see what fits the best with the story I’m trying to tell.
