lori lunette 💗✨ (my simpsona)

i decided to revamp her character because i didn’t like my first concept of her,, and here is her redesign!! plus i developed her backstory which you can read under the cut ↓

lori lunette is a 28-year-old woman who’s trying to make a living off her art. she has a degree in animation, but it isn’t easy finding a job in an industry that so many people look down upon in her home country

back in southeast asia, she worked on a short film for an animation festival and was given the opportunity to start an internship as a concept artist and animator for a studio in america. having never been outside of asia before, she accepted the offer in a heartbeat. she has never heard of “springfield” but her head-in-the-clouds mindset led her expect a mini los angeles, so imagine her dismay when she wasn’t greeted with the vibrant town she had hoped (she watched a lot of vlogs on life in springfield, but refused to believe it was actually as bad as they painted it to be)

yet, lori still kept her spirits up as she started her first day as an intern at itchy & scratchy studios. however, she’s often forced into uncreative labour (running errands, buying lunch for her coworkers, cleaning up the place…) she has grown irritated towards the uninviting work environment. often, she gets into disputes with her boss, roger meyers jr, about his creative directions and work ethics. the only reason she’s sucking it up is because she’s in a contract-binding internship

her expenses are paid for, but she’s given a very tight budget and struggles financially with being able to afford nicer things. she earns extra cash doing art commissions, with some of her loyal customers being mr burns and smithers, jeff and kumiko albertson, and patty and selma. (in s2e18 “brush with greatness”, mr burns was encouraged by smithers to support and commission local artists, so i thought maybe smithers would frequently commission her to do paintings of the old man. she doesn’t enjoy painting his “beauty”, but the pay is genereous

she lives in springfield arms apartment, with jeff and kumiko albertson as her neighbours. they get along quite well, actually!! jeff would ramble about some media controversy or opinion, and lori, knowing nothing about it, would nod aimlessly. jeff thinks she’s a great listener and very agreeable. lori and kumiko love to talk about their rich heritage and celebrate their asian roots—they would frequently exchange cultural food, clothing, and traditions

although unlicensed, she’s often asked by the parents of springfield to babysit the children (word spread by homer and marge of how good she is with kiddos). she gets paid, but the tiresome job leaves her with less time to herself. patty always has to help her say “no”, because lori sucks at standing up for herself…

she plans on leaving springfield after her internship to seek better job opportunities. however, she has grown fond of the colourful characters in the town and is conflicted on whether to settle down or not

Tumblr didn't save my text while I was off tab, but what I meant to say was I decided to draw myself as a simpson just for fun, but also cause I need a break from animating my next thing. I know this isnt really frankie the squealer nor spribgfield mafia content, but I promise I'll post a fanart soon. Yes I got carried away with the doodles, so don't bother pointing that out.

I missed drawing Winston so much!! Im not super proud of this one but im just glad I got to draw him again!!!

I also have a voice claim for him! He sounds like Amanojaku from the ghost stories dub. While he's cool and professional in public, his language is more colorful and his voice more gravelly when he's by himself, hes a lot like Amanojaku when no one else is around
