What I'm really struggling to understand here is who the sims team think they're hurting with this ban. It is not the Russian government if that's what they think. It is the people of Russia, many of which are members of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. These people live in oppression and for them the sims is a way for them to escape that oppression. To create a world that is just theirs. Where they themselves and their characters can be whoever they want to be without risking any harm to themselves. A place where they can create the love story and wedding of their dreams. Something many of them fear they will never get to experience in real life. That's what you are taking that from them. Their escape. Their safe haven. And for that you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Also, if it was just about the laws in Russia, why the hell does the ban extend to Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakstan too? None of this makes any sense.
To the simmers affected by this ban, we stand with you. I, and so many others in our community are so sorry for what's happening. You did not deserve this.
