My apology went down well, his eyes connected with mine and he told me he would forgive me anything, anything! It was like we’d never been apart, we talked for a good few minutes about nonsense and it felt so good, it felt right...I felt like I was home!
Archer Clancy, still so beautiful. My feelings for him were unchanged, but something about him had changed and I was worried about that. He looked at me differently, was he still upset with me?
ARCHER: I mean it, your hair it...well it suits you!
It turned out to be just the opposite, the way he looked at me had my heart all a flutter. It was the way Johnny looked at me! I should have discouraged it, but I looked back, basking in the moment where Archer gazed at me with those violety blue eyes.
I couldn’t help myself, I had to know something and I knew it could possibly open up a whole big can of worms...but I asked anyway.
CASSIE: Where’s Fallon?
ARCHER: Um, yeah about her...she’s just a, um...how do you say it? A friend with benefits?
CASSIE: Oh! *blush*
ARCHER: Well she was, I haven’t seen her since...well we lost touch.
CASSIE: Good, um no I mean s-sorry! She was...nice!
ARCHER: Uh-huh?
CASSIE: Really pretty!
ARCHER: Yeah? I guess, never really noticed. *wink*
Johnny came to find me, he wasn’t happy at all. I’d hoped that I managed to salvage his friendship with Archer by telling him what a decent man he was, but Johnny’s temper was a force to be reckoned with. We’d just had our first fight so of course he was going to be in a mood.
JOHNNY: Babe, let’s go! We’re leaving!
CASSIE: Oh, um...well it was great to see you again Archie...
JOHNNY: Now Cassie let’s go!
ARCHER: See you around. Later Johnny!
JOHNNY: Hmpf, yeah whatever Clancy, CASSIE MOVE IT!!!
I apologised under my breath to Archie, he smiled and waved a hand at me as if to say don’t worry about it. I made my way towards my very angry boyfriend who firmly took my arm and guided me out of the convention, as I looked back Archer Clancy got smaller and smaller the further I got to the train station...and my heart ached!
