I was not planning on doing another read-a-thon this June. However sometimes friends -coughjoliencough- are the worst enablers when they show you things that look like fun. So that is what happens with this. Read-a-thons always do motivate me a bit to hit goals so here we are.
Sims-a-Thon is a creation by Kara from BiancaReads on Youtube. It is a read-a-thon based on the sims if the banner and title had not clued you in. You can find the entire announcement video here. Basically you follow creating a sim/house prompts and later careers or life prompts as you can see down below. In the box below the video there is a google drive where you can find all the things needed. The graphs were created by Lauren from Wonderless Reviews.
Now I don’t know how much reading I’ll get to in June so I am keeping this somewhat small. I am going to focus on the start and see how far I get. I also have some e-arcs to get through so I’ll be trying to square them away in these prompts.
Create-a-sim
Read a book that is a first in a series
Going with Dragonslayer by Duncan M. Hamilton. It is one of the arcs I need to get to and it has a spunky dragon on the cover so here we are.
Build a House
Read something set in another world
Look that is almost ALL I read. I’ll be grabbing Lost Gods by Micah Yongo. Its tagged as high fantasy so should be set in another world.
Perfect the Layout
Read a book with an interesting format
Looking at my shelves I think I only have Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick left of an interesting format. It’s big but also has about half illustrations so should still be a fairly quick read.
Interior Design
Read a book with a pretty cover
Going with Legendary by Stephanie Garber for this. All the uk covers are just so pretty.
Reach the Top of Your Career Track
Read a finale
And to finish Caraval, I’m going to read Finale here.
Writer
Read a book by a new-to-you author
I am super curious about Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
