we were talking in the discord about EAs Always Online Era

and how sim city was the one to take that bullet and save the rest of their franchises from that fate

but i wish it had been the sims 4

i wish to god it had been the sims 4 that catastrophically failed

we'd have a sims 5 by now if ts4 had lost that round

instead of the hellish purgatory the franchise exists in now

sims update, doing the quests in this game makes my sims seem truly insane. one girl moved to town, immediately did a 24 hour fishing marathon, and then - THE SAME DAY - moved in with & got married to one of her neighbours. now that's some go getter spirit

The Sims thing is so releatable - I didn't even know that people were doing challenges, generations and what-not.. I was here to re-create ridiculous, drama-filled stories that I wrote since.. well, since middle school, really. (and have since moved on to to recreate more and more elaborate stories from other's universes - once I tried re-enacting Mass Effects' arcs, I knew I was too deep in both games 😂😂)

then i assume you’ve seen that one creator who’s making all the sims 4 mass effect conversions? @xldsims? talk about dedicated

anyway, listen, sims is in the same class as stardew valley and darkest dungeon. it’s at its most fun when you’re on a deep dive and don’t come up for hours. if you can’t live out your ridiculous middle school soap operas in willow creek or oasis springs, where can you?
