well...happy new year
Let me recount to you the journey that was my obtaining this book.
1. Place preorder at the beginning of February, because I have come to accept this is who I am as a person. 2. Book is shipped Feb. 11th, the day before release, so it should arrive at my apartment by the end of that week. 3. Book is sent out for delivery Feb. 13th 4. Also on Feb. 13th, my apartment burns down. Unsurprisingly, the delivery fails. 5. I call Canada Post on Feb. 14th after the second delivery attempt asking if they can just hold it at the post office. They cannot, but they say after the third delivery attempt is completed and fails the book will be redirected to the office and I can pick it up there. 6. Feb. 15th the book is sent out for delivery a third time -- and apparently is still out.
(fig. 1: time travel may be involved)
7. A couple days afterward I call Canada Post and am told they have no idea what’s up with that, it’s a problem they’ve never seen before, but they’ll file a ticket and should have a resolution for me by the end of the month. 8. February ends. I am told they have no idea how to fix the problem and I should get Chapters to resend the thing. 9. I call Chapters March 1st to resend the thing, asking them to deliver it to a nearby store for me to pick up. 10. I never receive the email confirming either that this replacement order has been placed or that it has shipped, but about a week and a half later I log in to my account on their website and see it is allegedly ready for pickup, although it looks a little weird.
(fig. 2: Time is dead. Homestuck killed it)
11. I go in to see if it is in fact ready for pick up. It is not. I decide to come back another day in case it’s just taken a little longer than they anticipated. 12. I wait a week and go in today. The book continues to not be ready for pick-up. The order record in their computer system has multiple messages that have never been seen by any of the three employees I spoke to. The message in my user account has never been seen by any of the three employees I spoke to. They have no idea why I didn’t receive the emails. They have no idea where the book is. All is mystery. 14. They hand me a copy of the book off the shelf (because this book I preordered has at this point been out for five weeks) and I go home, still without answers to any of my many, many questions.
i can feel an urge arising within me and it’s the urge to reread homestuck before the upcoming
tenth anniversary
Finished reading Homestuck books 2 and 3 (acts 3 and 4 along with the intermission).
i can't believe after all these years I'm still homestuck...
it’s two am and i just realized next year marks One Decade of homestuck and i’m DEEPLY disquieted
good news everyone: cascade still goes hard as hell
