Funny Stuff! (To me, anyway)
descSo there’s a blog on tumblr called Sims Gone Wrong, which basically is a collection of weird happenings and glitches in the Sims PC Games. People can submit screenshots of weird things that happen to their Sims during the game, and the moderator of the page chooses some of their favorite pictures each day to post For example, the one below is a glitch someone’s Sim decided to take a seat in the stove, and hilarity ensued. (At least it did for me. Maybe you don’t have my weird great sense of humor. If you do, I would recommend checking this out!)
One of my issues with this blog is that the Sims Gone Wrong and person’s personal blog are the same. So, once in a while, after all the Sims pictures, there be a text post or an ask that refers to her personally and not the Sims part. If you’re like me, and just go on the page for the Sims content, this can be a little annoying/confusing. The template she chose is also a little too bright for my liking. Since this blog is mostly screenshot-based, I feel like a darker background would help the pictures “pop” more, but that’s just me!
Another blog I really like, and which has the same sort of humor as the Sims one is called Arthur Out of Context. It has the same sort of set-up as the previous blog, where followers can submit screenshots of scenes in which the characters are caught looking weird/funny, especially if you didn’t know the storyline. For example...
It also allows users to just submit the screenshot and the caption below, if there was something they found particularly funny or witty.
Arthur is still one of my favorite cartoons, and it has been every since I was little. (Shout-out to anyone who exclusively watched PBS Kids!) It has pop culture references and is just very witty, which makes it enjoyable for adults as well. (At least the older episodes were...) So, if you want to simultaneously get a good laugh and revert back to your childhood, you might want to check out this blog!
The last blog is a little different, but it still is along the “humor” line. This blog is called pleatedjeans, and it is a blog with funny, cute, or sarcastic images/words. There’s no commentary, just the post (the description is “no filler, just funny). This is humorous blog to break up your day, but I have to warn you, it can get addicting, as the images just keep streaming!
