Playmobil Warrior - Token Toys Commission
This guy has to be one of my favourites. The gormless little playmobil smile just makes him seem so out of touch with the horrible violence he's committed. : )

War and Soldiers: How video games have shaped a perception of war.
Simulated violence vs real world violence.
As players of video games, we indulge in some of the most highly satisfying and entertaining simulations of violence in any medium.
There is a lot of fun to be had in the experience of fantasy violence, being so highly systematised and proven to maximise feelings of challenge vs reward. It’s a great adrenaline rush no doubt about that....
“But in real war... Modern war, you are dying, you will die like a dog for no good reason”
Games don’t cause violence that much is proven in studies, but they do provide us with an impression of what violence is and it is very inaccurate to say the least... Often we become so enraptured by these virtual experiences we fail to realise that in the real world violence and war is happening right now and for the soldiers and civilians caught in the crossfire it is deeply traumatic, horrifying, random, chaotic and cruel.
Recruiters and those who volunteered for the Iraq war in 2003 came into that conflict with the expectation that war was just like how it was in the movies and video games... How unfortunately wrong they were, with stories similar to the horrors witnessed by those who came back from the Vietnam war all too common. Loss of sound mind, loss of limbs, lives, livelihoods and more. The media we consume about war perhaps may just be a triviality to most of us, it’s just a game and games are for fun!... But I think it is important to realise that our fun is far removed from any sort of reality, that it can distract us from some very terrible things going on right now and in the past.
We need to take a step back from these spectacles sometimes and examine what is really going on out there on these front-lines, ask people what they are going through. Because people are still out there fighting in meaningless wars in Afghanistan and other places, we need to listen, we need to ask ourselves the hard questions about conflict.

Fun fact, when super glue dries on acrylic, it sometimes appears similar to lichen, which I am now further exploring
