I’ve been wanting to share Dead Ringer for a bit, but I wanted to get a bit further into the prologue before I shared it. Since I’m almost done I got excited and decided to share it a little earlier. I’m awed that I already have people interested in it! I can’t wait for you to discover the world and the story. I had a blast designing the cast and now I’d like them to impact the long haul story, and I think they’ll be moments down the line that’ll be well worth it. I think anyway.

"Where the fuck are they?" you ask, storming over to Tommy with fury blazing in your eyes.

"Oh," Tommy stops swinging. "Hey, Z."

"Come on, tell me. Where are they?"

"They went home."

"Fine. Where do they live?"

Tommy slides off the swing and stands in the dirt, little pieces of mulch and mud plastered to his feet. You toss him the rain boots and he gratefully begins sliding them on. "Why do you want to know?"

"Because I'm going to kill them."

"What? No, Z, you can't kill people."

You give him a dangerous look.

"Fine, you can only kill adults. No children."

"Thank you," you mutter.

Tommy finishes and just stays there, shivering in the rain.

You groan and roll your eyes. With a shrug, you take off your coat and wrap it around his shoulders. Grimacing, you mumble, "Come on, kid. Let's go home. You're freezing and I don't want you catching a cold."

Tommy nods and sniffs, "Thanks, Z."

"Yeah. Whatever."

Someone who has a compassionate heart. It doesn’t need to be something all consuming, but a person who isn’t cruel is the one for them.

👹 How much patience does you OC have? Are they patient? Or are they easily irritable?

Shae has quite a bit of patience when it comes to the majority of people they interact with. Being in the position that they’re in, they’ve had to learn to be.

☠ How petty are they? And what length of pettiness would they go for?

Shae isn’t the pettiest person out there, but they have been known to be petty whenever the time calls for it. Especially when it’s in regards to their older brother.

It’s one of my favorite tropes 😄, which is why anything I write usually has those undertones (or blatantly said like with Eternal Love). There’s another soulmate IF, I have in mind way down the line that I think will be fun to explore.
