I could have worded that post better, but honestly I was not expecting my little personal vent post to get 500+ notes overnight lmao but

I know the roots&foundation of punk aren’t all white racists/etc, and I guess I could have worded my post better to reflect that, my point is that the biggest names and influences on the genre have always had a large handful of racists/misogynists/homophobes/etc as well, and im just pointing out that people are acting like those types were never part of or huge influences on the scene (and the types of people they attracted to the scene)

I am NOT saying that racists/etc created/are the entire face of the scene LOL I’m saying that they’ve always been around and have been a bad influence and its weird to act like thats not the case, like a bunch of posts ive been seeing have implied.
