Sincerely, Jane - Janelle Monáe
The way we live, the way we die
What a tragedy, I'm so terrified
Daydreamers please wake up
We can't sleep no more

What good is love if it burns bright and explodes in flames?
Are we really living or just walking dead now?!
Janelle Monáe
Dirty Computer really been in the works since 2006. Wow. Legendary.
sketches of Janelle Monae from this video which is my favorite song and also i’ve fallen madly in love with her please send help
Why isn’t it April 27 already?!
That’s the date that Janelle Monae’s newest, Dirty Computer, drops.
This album seems to be another part of the Metropolis concept of The Audition EP, Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase) EP, The Archandroid (Suites II and III), and Electric Lady (Suites IV and V). Reportedly, she’s decided to extend the concept to seven or possibly more suites, and “Dirty Computer” as a concept would seem to fit. Additionally, according to Rolling Stone and the trailer itself, there’s “a narrative film to accompany Dirty Computer, though a release date and title have yet to be announced.”
Oddly enough, the listing for the iTunes preorder has no track names whatsoever, beyond the two single releases.
Anyway ....
“Make Me Feel”, featuring Tessa Thompson as a major character in the video
“Django Jane” (EXPLICIT LANGUAGE, HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED IN THE WORKPLACE! SERIOUSLY, IF YOUR COWORKERS ARE STARTLED BY HEARING “We gon’ start a motherf**kin’ p***y riot” (you know, without the asterisks), then HEADPHONES ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
And just for the hell of it, my all time favorite Janelle Monae song to date, “Sincerely, Jane”:
Janelle Monáe - Sincerely, Jane.
Left the city, my momma she said don't come back home These kids round' killin each other, they lost they minds, they gone They quittin' school, making babies and can barely read Some gone off to their fall, lord have mercy on them One, two, three, four, your cousins is round' here sellin' dope While they’re daddies, your uncle is walking round' strung out Babies with babies, and their tears keep burning, while their dreams go down the drain now Are we really living or just walking dead now? Or dreaming of a hope riding the wings of angels The way we live The way we die What a tragedy, I'm so terrified Day dreamers please wake up, we can't sleep no more Love don't make no sense, ask your neighbor The winds have changed; it seems they have abandoned us The truth hurts, and so does yesterday What good is love if it burns bright, and explodes in flames (I thought every little thing had love but uhh) Are we really living or just walking dead now? Or dreaming of a hope riding the wings of angels The way we live The way we die What a tragedy, I'm so terrified Day dreamers please wake up, we can't sleep no more I've seen them shootin' up funerals in they Sunday clothes Spending money on spinners but won't pay college loans And all you gangers and bangers rollin' dice and taking lives, in a smokey dark Lord have mercy on you Teacher, teacher please reach those girls in them videos The little girls just broken Queen, confusing bling for soul Danger, there's danger when you take off your clothes, all your dreams go down the drain girl Are we really living or just walking dead now? Or dreaming of a hope riding the wings of angels The way we live The way we die What a tragedy, I'm so terrified Day dreamers please wake up, we can't sleep no more We live and then we die, and we never know the right So now, now were gone now, on your mark We live and then we die, and we never touch the sky So now, now were gone now, on your mark Five, seven, eight, two, one It is now time, for you to come home my dear You've been gone long enough You must come, you must go
-”Sincerely, Jane” by Janelle Monae
P.S. Day Dreamers, please wake up, we can’t sleep no more.
