The sound out of Harry’s throat can’t have been on purpose. “S’a prank right?” he says at last. “Has Nialler put you up to this?”

“I don’t know what a Nialler is,” Louis answers. “But I promise this isn’t a prank. Though it is starting to feel like one on my end.”

“You want to sculpt me,” Harry says again, though it’s less of a question this time through.

“I’d pay you,” Louis tacks on, awkwardly. “For your time, I mean… I… I don’t expect you to do this for free.”

“You want to pay to sculpt me?” Harry repeats back and it sounds… exceedingly illicit laid out in Harry’s low molasses voice. But those are the facts of it.

Louis holds firm, “I… Yes. I do.”

There’s a long silence—too long a silence—and Louis knows without a shadow of a doubt he’s going to be rejected. He’d swear on his life this is nothing more than innocent artistic interest, but he’s never felt more like a creep.

“Does this mean… Does this mean I can come to your studio?” Harry asks finally.
