I recieved a new tarot deck as a gift! They're so utterly lovely and I can't wait to start using them.

The deck includes a total of 28 illustrations, each an individual design to this deck. The deck also features the twelve zodiac designs. 

The cards are based off of poems, created by Dani Huard. Each card comes with a short poem as well as a few adjectives. 

The cards are printed on rainbow metallic "Lava" card stock, creating a holographic rainbow glimmer. The card stock itself is the metallic shine, vs. a finish. This being said, you don't have to worry about the metallic rubbing off :)  The 'lava' effect gives each card a unique but not over powering effect of rainbow metallic. Each card will have a unique look to it's shine and glimmer.

What is Oracle?

Just in case you are unfamiliar with Oracle vs. Tarot, I wanted to explain. Oracle is very similar to Tarot and can be used in the same way with different spreads, but the cards themselves and definitions are different. Oracle is a bit more free will than the way that tarot is structured. So in my deck, all the cards have their own unique names and have been given poems as their definitions! This creates for a more intuitive experience, and it makes the definitions much more up to you :)

SALEM

An animated story about a cryptid with a big heart and even bigger questions, on a quest to discover their true origins!

I reblogged a post about this yesterday, but I figured I would make a brand new one to start talking about this!

S.A.L.E.M. is the brainchild of an absolutely astounding artist (Sincerely Sam) who is ambitious enough to undertake this astoundingly huge project. It already has some incredible voice talent signed up to voice the characters, all it needs is the money to produce the first episode! The team behind S.A.L.E.M. is running a Kickstarter campaign to try to fund the project, and I wanted to spread the word!

I highly encourage you to check out their website and see what this show is all about! It features a young cryptid (who goes by “they/them” pronouns!) who goes on a journey of self-discovery with their friends in tow! 

I talk a lot about animation in general and the types of things that I wish I could see on TV. Often times, discussions of representation and inclusion come up. Having strong, fleshed-out characters that are not stereotypes, incorporating different gender identities within media... these are all important things that television should do. I am a huge believer that if we want to see change in the industry, we should support projects like this that are pushing for these amazing changes, taking modern day television in the direction that it needs to go.

It would mean the absolute world to me if you would check out the S.A.L.E.M. kickstarter and see what it’s all about! You don’t have to back it if you don’t have the means, but a like and a share would go a long way in trying to get this project the attention it deserves!

XV The Devil:

Ruling Sign: Capricorn

The Devil card represents the struggles and conflicts of human beings when they lose their way on the path to enlightenment. It can signify obsession, materialism, addiction, temptation, or impulsive negative behavior. The Devil can block the path to enlightenment, but only if we allow him to do so.

Interpretation: Take time to re-establish your values. Do not become controlled by fear, vanity, or pride. You may feel lost or trapped, but these obstacles are created by your own self-doubt. This card can imply that you are stuck in a negative cycle of either mental or physical means. It is a sign that you need to be aware of your actions to others, and to yourself, because they are inherently toxic (alternatively, this could be referring to someone toxic in your life). It does not do to dwell on the negative connotations of this card. Humans are prone to errors in their lives, and you are no exception. You do the best you can to make it through life in one piece - however you must learn from these errors and mistakes, lest you start the cycle anew.

VII: The Chariot

Ruling Sign: Cancer

The Chariot signifies forward motion, whether a journey on the spiritual plane or in the physical world, it drives forward with strength and determination. It is also a sign leaving behind the negative aspects of your life that you no longer need and moving onto bigger and better things.

Interpretation: This card is a sure sign of success or victory. Don’t wait! Now is the time to pursue goals and opportunities. The Chariot can also signify travel, a new residence, or big change. Any obstacle can be overcome with self-discipline and clear thinking. You’ve worked long and hard to reach your intended goals - this card is a sure sign that you’re about to grasp that long term goal, or starting a new chapter of your life with a bang. If The Chariot is near many Pentacles, it can mean a new job or career path. Associated with Cancer this card is all about emotions and sensitivity, and how they will affect the journey ahead.

The Major Arcana is the foundation of the Tarot deck. These cards represent the various stages and events in our lives as well as deep rooted lessons. Starting with The Fool and ending with The Universe these cards portray the “Fool’s Journey” into higher wisdom. It is often believed that higher powers are at work when Major Arcana come into play in readings.
