XXI The Universe:

Ruling Sign: Saturn

The World is a card almost too big to fit into just one. There are infinite options, and multiple paths and choices. The choice is completely up to us, and it is in our favor. As the master of our own destinies, nothing is impossible. Even though The World is the last of the Major Arcana, this is not meant to signify a stopping point for our growth as people.

Interpretation: It is important to realize that with all these different pathways follow, every one of them will have difficulties to surpass. To live is to struggle - however, the lessons you’ve learned up until these crossroads will help guide you on your next journey. Holding The World in your palm, you are choosing your own destiny with this card. Perhaps it is time to make a decision on something. Or maybe it is time to move on, and begin the next chapter. Walk down this road with humility and enlightenment. Your journey has only just begun.

XX Judgement:

Ruling Planet: Pluto

Judgement calls for hard decisions, and - believe it or not, forgiveness. Most of this card is dealing with the aftermath, and celebrating our release from under Judgement’s thumb. Judgement can also be negatively associated with grudges, so we must be careful in whom we choose to judge.

Interpretation: You must accept your past mistakes, and learn from them. Judgement comes for us all, either from within ourselves or from outside forces. Associated with the symbol and element of fire, it is the inner light inside all of us that drives your willpower and determination to move forward. You’ve worked long and hard to be where you are today, and your personal growth is at an all-time high - you’ve practically been reborn. Pay attention to where the horn is pointing in the spread, you can find hints towards your true calling.

XIX The Sun:

Ruling Planet: Sun

The Sun is a card of great happiness and positivity. We need to utilize the gifts and abilities given to us, and rejoice in the warmth of The Sun. Opposite to The Moon, we look towards the physical world and go with what is present to us.

Interpretation: You may have come out of a creative dry spell recently, or a depression. Now you’re experiencing a rekindling of happiness, enjoyment, and enthusiasm. You’ve learned some vital lessons from your past, so it’s incredibly important to apply that knowledge to the future. Learning from mistakes and knowing you won’t make them again gives you a certain power and confidence in yourself. The Sun is all about feeling yourself and feeling power in your identity. You know who you are, and you know what you’re capable of. Go bask in that light, it’s definitely your time to shine!

XVIII The Moon:

Ruling Sign: Pisces

The Moon often stands for fear and anxieties, as well as enchantment and inspiration, incorporating our primal fear of the dark and our undying curiosity of everything that hides in the shadows of the night. Very feminine in nature, The Moon reminds us that not everything is as it seems.

Interpretation: Dreams can tell you a lot about yourself. They come from the deepest part of your subconsciousness, and often tell you things you had no conscious knowledge of prior. Let your intuition guide you, and let your dreams give you that hidden knowledge. Try using different forms of divination, or practice meditation for further insight. However, be sure to stay aware of the illusions of the mind. Your imagination can quickly slip free from your control and convince you to believe in something false. If you are bewildered by the answers you’ve received in your dreams, perhaps you’ve spent too much time delving into the matters of the arcane. The Moon can also be a sign that you’re being lead into the unknown by higher powers, or dealing with a phobia that is unreasonable.

XVII The Star:

Ruling Sign: Aquarius

The Star is the omen that we are on the right path. It is a symbol of hope, inspiration and good health. It can also be a sign of spiritual guidance. Higher powers are watching over us, guiding us along our paths. As The Star points us towards our future, our hope seems to make that star look brighter than the sun.

Interpretation: The Star(s) are in your favor. Use this energy to its fullest potential, working towards goals, getting creative, or going on an adventure! Stars are a symbol of hope in many cultures. While The Star isn’t meant to give you a solid answer to your question, it still tells you that it’s okay to relax and hope for the best while waiting for the true answer to appear.

XVI The Tower:

Ruling Planet: Mars

The Tower is a card of transition, but not an easy one. It is a foreboding omen of destruction, the collapse of all that has been built. This card can be a warning before a situation escalates to complete ruin, or it can be a reminder that even from tragedy we must rise above and build again.

Interpretation: Pay attention and take head of any warning signs. You may find yourself in a situation with catastrophic consequences. The process of change has already begun and it is best not to fight it, but to prepare for your world to be flipped upside down. Similar to riding a large wave, you have to go with the flow just to make it back to shore without capsizing. Overall, remember that this card is a sign of overcoming tragedy and beginning again with new, stronger foundation.

XV The Devil:

Ruling Sign: Capricorn

The Devil card represents the struggles and conflicts of human beings when they lose their way on the path to enlightenment. It can signify obsession, materialism, addiction, temptation, or impulsive negative behavior. The Devil can block the path to enlightenment, but only if we allow him to do so.

Interpretation: Take time to re-establish your values. Do not become controlled by fear, vanity, or pride. You may feel lost or trapped, but these obstacles are created by your own self-doubt. This card can imply that you are stuck in a negative cycle of either mental or physical means. It is a sign that you need to be aware of your actions to others, and to yourself, because they are inherently toxic (alternatively, this could be referring to someone toxic in your life). It does not do to dwell on the negative connotations of this card. Humans are prone to errors in their lives, and you are no exception. You do the best you can to make it through life in one piece - however you must learn from these errors and mistakes, lest you start the cycle anew.

XIV Temperance:

Ruling Sign: Sagittarius

Temperance is the card of balance, healing, and harmony. It can represent the balance between light and dark, success and failure, work and play, or simply emotional balance. To be temperate is to show self-restraint and moderation. The calm, quiet composure of those who have already achieved Temperance draw people towards them like a moth to a flame. The lost and chaotic find their way to Temperance, looking for an answer to their questions.

Interpretation: Drawing this card suggests that you embody the qualities of Temperance, or there is someone in your life who does. Using both intellect and emotion to work with others, the qualities of Temperance are essential for inner peace. This card can indicate that you are at a stable point in your life and can use this time to let your creativity flow. Good health and vitality are abundant in the coming days. On the opposite side of the coin, drawing Temperance could mean you need to reach that stable point, before you can go any further in your journey. When paired with an extreme card (such as the Knights), the appearance of Temperance could indicate that you need to practice moderation. Should the Tower appear in the same spread as Temperance, then you must be prepared for catastrophe. Something will break, and it will not be pleasant. To prepare yourself, assess your past choices or circumstances, and use your prior lessons to make the best of your future decisions.

Ruling Sign: Scorpio

This card represents more than what it’s name depicts. It is meant to be frightening, for every living being fears Death. However, Death is not the end. It can represent change, transition, rebirth, and renewal. The end of one cycle and the beginning of another. There is a natural progression here, and things may be different now as we head forward.

Interpretation: Change is happening - perhaps it is overwhelming; something you never imagined could happen has indeed come to fruition. Embrace the change as you transition from one stage to the next, and in the same way a door closes, another will be opened. Very rarely does this card represent physical death, and it should not be assumed when it shows up in a spread.

XII The Hanged Man:

Ruling Planet: Neptune

The paradoxical nature of The Hanged Man reminds us that sometimes the best course of action is not always obvious. It hints at something contradictory, but also something we can feel is true to its core. This card represents new perspectives, careful planning, and enlightenment. It can also be a sign that we are about to embark on a journey of personal growth.

Interpretation: Now is the time to reflect on the current situation, taking time to just be and focusing on living in the moment. Look before you leap! The timing may not be right for you to take action. When you most want to enforce your will on someone, that is when you should let go. When you want to have your own way, that is when you should put your self-interest aside and sacrifice your pride. When you most want to act, that is when you should wait. You can “control” by letting go. You “win” by surrendering. It is only when you can completely change your perspective that you will find what you are truly searching for.

Ruling Sign: Libra

The Justice card is a reminder that actions have consequences. This card represents Karmic justice and the balance of the universe. Justice enforces balance, adjustment and unbiased judgement.

Interpretation: Justice has been or will be served. You will recieve what is due to you. Whatever wrongs have been done the universe will avenge and any positive actions will be rewarded! In the literal sense this card can represent legal matters such as court cases or contracts. It is also a reminder that the actions you take return to you threefold and you should take time to reflect on the consequences before making any current decisions.

X The Wheel of Fortune

Ruling Planet: Jupiter

The Wheel of Fortune signifies the forces of Fate and Destiny taking control. In the loss of control there is a sense of relief for some, and for others a sense of panic. The spinning wheel represents the cycles of life, and it reminds us that change is natural and should be embraced.

Interpretation: The Universe surely has a plan for you. This could mean a big change, and depending on the surrounding cards, you can read if it’s meant to be positive or negative. Go with the flow and be open to this new development. Should you remain flexible to the adjustments of the Universe, any outcome can have a positive ending. Take the good from the bad, and build it into your next empire. A streak of luck is on the horizon! However, the ouroboros of the Wheel reminds us that everything will come full circle, so use this luck wisely.

IX: The Hermit

Ruling Sign: Virgo

This is a card to be taken literally, The Hermit represents solitude and contemplation. It’s okay to be alone, and sometimes we need to be. Solitude can be a time to think and focus on our own personal growth, health and hobbies! This is not a lazy card.

Interpretation: Drawing this card could mean you’re reaching a breaking point and it’s time to remove yourself from the situation. Rest and relax to enjoy a quiet moment. Too much noise, whether physical or emotional, can muddle even the most structured of minds. Refrain from acting on impulse - as hard as it is to admit, we are not invincible, or eternal. You may be in too fragile of a state to take on any other challenges at this time, and that is okay. The Hermit tells us it’s okay to take a moment to breathe. While you pause, try and reflect on your past actions before making any decisions for your future.

VIII: Strength

Ruling Sign: Leo

True enough, this card represents strength, but it also teaches us that strength takes many forms other than just physical prowess. Courage, perseverance, patience and empathy are all impressive feats of strength. It is important to have the willpower to overcome fears and obstacles without resorting to brute force, hatred or antagonism. Love conquers hate.

Interpretation: Now is the time to stay strong. Control your emotions and don't let fear or antagonism get the best of you. Sometimes it is not all about brute strength, but having the strength to admit you were wrong. Keep your head, and keep your patience. There may be a great force compelling you to act, but be careful not to bite off more than you can chew.

VII: The Chariot

Ruling Sign: Cancer

The Chariot signifies forward motion, whether a journey on the spiritual plane or in the physical world, it drives forward with strength and determination. It is also a sign leaving behind the negative aspects of your life that you no longer need and moving onto bigger and better things.

Interpretation: This card is a sure sign of success or victory. Don’t wait! Now is the time to pursue goals and opportunities. The Chariot can also signify travel, a new residence, or big change. Any obstacle can be overcome with self-discipline and clear thinking. You’ve worked long and hard to reach your intended goals - this card is a sure sign that you’re about to grasp that long term goal, or starting a new chapter of your life with a bang. If The Chariot is near many Pentacles, it can mean a new job or career path. Associated with Cancer this card is all about emotions and sensitivity, and how they will affect the journey ahead.

Ruling Sign: Gemini

This card clearly represents an attraction between two lovers, but alternately, it can also represent a very significant life choice or the forming of a partnership that’s not necessarily romantic (such as friendship, family bonds or business partnership). Some of the energies of this card are, unity, harmony, connection, communication and diplomacy.

Interpretation: If you draw this card then a new romance may be on the horizon. The Lovers can also mean that you have to make a very important decision or choice. A new foundation is being built based on love, trust and mutual respect. Cooperation and understanding are essential at this time - either to resolve an issue or to keep that foundation strong and healthy. If this card appears in a spread near an Ace, it could symbolize a new beginning in love.
