the concept of “the vanishing of erica sinclair” would’ve ate so bad. most people like to mischaracterize her as being one to never fall for vecna, but just use your imagination. she was 13 years old in 1987. how many 13 year olds do you know that aren’t gullible at that age? imagine what we could’ve gotten. that “sassy black girl” image the writers and the GA have crafted for her would’ve crumbled immediately as it would’ve stuck to the show’s motto of breaking stereotypes. we could’ve gotten a lucas sinclair crashout. we could’ve gotten an exploration of the sinclair family dynamic. we could’ve gotten more willerica interactions which i actually don’t think we’ve ever gotten in previous seasons. same with holly, erica would’ve been a preexisting character we’ve seen connected to the supernatural plot in some way be further thrown into it by becoming a victim of it. seeing the exploration of holly now that she’s grown up is cool, but i wanted to see the more vulnerable parts of erica we never got to see. THE POTENTIAL WE WERE NEVER GOTTT.
