SUD DROP 360-VIDEO FOR “WISH”

SUD kicked off the weekend by dropping a brand new music video for “Wish”, a track off their album Skin.

Going for something unlike anything they’ve done before, SUD and Sindikato came up with a 360° video. “We liked the concept because it was new and very minimal compared to our past videos.”, vocalist Sud Ballecer tells PULP Magazine.

Director Enzo Valdez further tells us, “Sindikato, our production house, has been doing music videos for ten years now and since we’ve started managing artists mid-2016, we thought that we should always push ourselves creatively. I've been wanting to do a one shot video and we just purchased a 360 camera-- so we combined those two ideas.”

Speaking about the concept, Enzo says that in an effort to maximize the 360° idea, they wanted to give people a reason to look around. “We then realized, people are so invested in the old music videos of SUD. So we told ourselves, ‘Why don't we bring all the characters back? And to make things crazier, why don't we put in hints of their future videos?’ Thus the big easter egg music video. There's so much trivia about everything in the video, from the people, to the props, to the location.” And true enough, if you’ve seen SUD’s previous videos then you might be able to spot some familiar faces-- the ballerina in “Smilky”, the girl from “Sila”, and the characters from “How We Play”.

With the video being “full of friends, old members, characters from our past and future music videos and some people who helped us along the way”, you might also spot SUD’s past members in the video-- former guitarist Chii Balanaa, Simon Panaguiton (now of Hulyo) who was part of SUD for a while, as well as Carlo Maraingan and Sammy Valenia. The band announced the departure of Carlo and Sammy from the band last month.

Apart from all of these, Sud tells us to keep an eye out for hints of three more music videos the band will be putting out in the near future. “The concept of the video was to gather everyone who was part of our past videos and our future ones. We wanted the viewers to have an experience of how we are when we're having fun and at the same time, we want them to look for clues as to what's coming up in our next videos.”, says Sud.

Noong isang araw, binigyan kami ng warning ng isa naming professor na huwag magbibigay ng pera sa mga pulubi sa daan. Sabi niya, miyembro sila ng sindikato. Knowledge about the issue lang ang pinanghahawakan noon UNTIL TODAY.

Naglalakad ako kanina papunta sa bus station sa Buendia dahil uuwi ako sa Batangas. May narinig akong lalaking sumisigaw. Pakiramdam ko barker siya. May kausap siyang 2 mukhang pulubi. Isang matandang babae at isang lalaking mukhang mid-teenager at pa-ika-ika kung maglakad.

Ganito ang sabi nung lalaking sumisigaw habang nagalalakad palayo ang 2 pulubi:

(With a strong Manileño accent and somehow sarcastic) Grabe ah! Best actor ka ha! Kanina lang tuwid ka maglakad, ngayon papilay-pilay ka na lang ha! Haha!

Nginitian lang ng 2 pulubi ang lalaking sumisigaw. Dun pa lang may hinala na ako pero di ko na lang pinansin. Pagkarating ko sa bus station, wala pa akong bus na masasakyan kaya nag-intay ako ng ilang minuto. Maya-maya pa, nakita ko uli yung 2 pulubi. Aba aba! At ang dalawang pulubi ay nanlilimos! Teary -eyed pa ang trip ng matandang babae at ang lalaking "pilay" naman, todo yapos at alalay naman sa matanda. Mukha talaga silang pinag-sakluban ng langit at lupa pero sa loob ko, mga mananamantala sila.

Saktong dating naman ng bus na sasakyan ko. Sumakay ako sa bus nang may bumabagabag sa isip ko.

Totoo pala sila. Totoo lahat ng bali-balita ko. Ngayon, alam ko na. Di na ako magpapaloko pa.
