Squire Velis Ikalien, Vathýsian Eldritch Knight, as played by the REDACTED @wildfey
Emerging after trials and tribulations (quite literally) from the Hollows of Vathýs, the veiled dark elf quickly found a home in Fulcrum with the Stewards, becoming the faithful squire to Rune Knight Agravain, the late King Destrian’s former bodyguard and closest ally. As the most experienced resistance member in the party, they are being counted on to steer the new recruits rightward and keep them on track for the Stewards’ greatest leap yet: infiltration and assassination at Duke Caspaer’s New Year’s Banquet.
Sidenote the first: 3 Velises, what of it? They’re complex.
Sidenote the second, @wildfey: Velis thinks they’re cool. The other Stewards think they’re cool (except Ri, perhaps, but even then). Players from the other Sinew game think Velis is cool and they’ve never even met. There’s a point to be made here.
in which the knife tells a story, Kaze ponders the orb, Elinor's dad is gnc af and we discover Irma is not funny
- Larc explains to Polly that the deal he made with Otamur was his ilfe in exchange for servitude, first as a pirate and then in taking over and massacring Sovatn, that he was mad with fear, and Polly says "what is love if not madness together?"
- the rest of the party agree to hand him over to whatever authorities the new Sovat society establishes.
- Elinor asks Justice League who the Warden is, and they tell us the Kaishi creation story - Shengming, the god of creation, adored Jihui, the god of change and choice, and so made a gift, Ai, for them. But Shijian, the god of time and death was jealous. Unable to create anything, they sent forth Xianmu, a dimension of hell, to destroy Ai instead. But Shengming made a prison to encase Xianmu, and a Warden, Kanshou, to watch over it.
- "Oh well if this planet's the prison, yeah, the moon's the Warden, don't worry about it!" says Justice League. it also turns out that Polly's birthmark is a brand from the warden denoting a security risk from Xianmu, and those with it are generally quick to anger, slightly unhinged and have a feeling of being observed at night. We still have no idea why the Warden is planning to release Xianmu.
- Kaze Dreams Ellison, who in the dream has his wings back. He says that Cord is full of factions vying for power, including the old army, headed by a somehow alive Cassia Tore; Bracuainian thanes; and the Admiral stationed in Nuwi. Kaze builds a sandcastle while Ellison takes the chance to fly again.
- Elinor, in a crisis of morality, calls Cabal to talk about her violent urges, especially since breaking through Otamur's barrier by thinking of people she wants to hurt. He says she just has to trust her decisions, that as long as she acts rationally and from a place of helping others, she will do well. He also says there's some weird shit happening in the cellar of the castle of Bostrandbercht. (Kaze also asks Cabal's pronouns (he/they) and Elinor becomes the first person in Cord to out a god).
- Salvio and Leech go to find Habrok, who is failing at diplomacy, to check on the breach which lead to Xianmu, which appears still fully sealed. We ask them to set up a watch to keep an eye on it then. Leech and Habrok bicker and Leech asks them to resurrect their ward, but Habrok refuses to fuck with the catalyst orb. Leech is upset but they manage to help Habrok scare off the crowds of New City and Old City who are at each other's throats.
- Kaze ponders the catalyst orb, which creates a shield for the city of Sovatn via the necromantic energy gained by hearvesting soul, which act as sort of parasites. While Leech sings their ward's favourite song, Kaze manages to pull her soul out of the catalyst, although full revival is beyong them. The soul sits in Leech's palm, and when Leech offers their body as a vessel, the tiny point of light goes into their heart, illuminating their body with a dim, pulsing red light.
Riringa Henare, Nuwian Rogue and First Mate of the Cursed Rose, as played by the lovely @cat-rose
Another recent acquisition of the Stewards of Destrian, led to their headquarters by the illusive Slaapwandelaar. With a sword for each of the seven seas of Nuwi, her hands are nigh as deadly as her tongue. In the years she spent at sea, the Pirate Lords were rounded up and executed on the orders of Emperor Dain. Now, her taste for revenge has led her into the heart of the Cordic Empire, accompanied by the ragtag Stewards and her eternal Captain Bando.
Kasauri Leafblossom, Bracuainian Ranger, as played by the wonderful @self-hatingangelofthursday
Aspiring stowaway turned sharpshooting resistance member of the Stewards of Destrian, nothing shall stand between Kas and his revenge against Knightess Captain “Red” Trinnen, the rogue imperial responsible for the sacking of his hometown, Lochan Bealach. He’s armed to the teeth, sporting an assortment of self-made gear and weapons.
Hako, Tekiroshi Sorcerer Paladin of Michiki the Koi
A recently inducted member of the Stewards of Destrian, the frontmost line of resistance against the Emperor Dain and the Cordic Empire. With a dark past in her monastery and a bleak future on the horizon with Dain’s Red Conquest, she remains impressively cheerful and is perhaps the only thing keeping the rest of the Stewards from tearing each other apart. Such is the way of perserverance, of commitment, and of Michiki!
guys i am NOT ready for the most ambitious crossover in dnd history (the bastard knights + the stewards of destrien + the envoys of the wardens going for the emperor and his wizard), but i am INCREDIBLY hyped
listening to the stewards game is just *opens pleco* *opens google translate* *opens pleco* *yells at saequis about crossing characters over* *opens google translate*
