theres such a slight but important different in Poison's expressions here

i think its in between these frames that they realize they are not going to come out of this alive

there's a realization alongside the fear in the second one, where there's just fear in the first one

i mean, of course they're afraid in both, they're literally under heavy fire and in this absurdly dangerous mission, it's fuckin' scary, but the second one...

there's a difference between being scared for your life, and realizing that you were right to be scared

hugging the girl as a "hello again" and realizing that you are also hugging her goodbye i don't KNOW

i don't think i'm articulating this well. it is very much 4:30am when i'm writing this. but do we see what i'm getting at here. there's an important difference here i'm gonna come back to this when i can think straight

this is definitely not the best thing i’ve ever drawn, but i have killjoys brainrot

and school starts tomorrow and i know i wont be able to post a bunch during the term

i also live by the ideas that as long as you have fun, it’s worth it, and someone might see you showing off things you’re not happy with and gain a bit of confidence. so yeah.

the fab four are legends in the zones; nay, more like gods. young joys wanna be them, pray to them in the morning and before bed. their names are part of the language: a ghoul is someone impulsive, a kobra, someone focused; joys party like party poison and shoot like jet. their names, their words, are spray-painted all over the fuckin desert.

so, they're treated like gods, but what if they actually were?

they go down swingin in sing like they were always destined to. the dracs throw up their bodies on the wall that surrounds bat city, so the killjoys know that their gods are dead.

but here's the thing: gods never stay dead.

a crow lands on the wall. it pecks party's mask. they shoo it away and sit up.

at first they think the others are dead, because there's blood all over their clothes. but then they get up, too. by whatever miracle, they're back in the land of the living.

maybe so many joys in the desert believed they were gods that they became them. maybe the witch is playing a game. either way, the fab four manage to get down the wall, limp back into the desert.

because killjoys never die
