Eulogy 24 in Detail: At this point in the narration, it might be helpful to give the reader a timeline of the breakup. -->Mark goes to New Zealand with his boss in the month of February. When he comes back, he tells me he was never attracted to me and that we don't have the kind of spark to make a marriage work. But he doesn't have the money and resources to leave, so I continue to let him stay for a million equally bad reasons: I think he'll change his mind, I don't have the strength, I still love him, I'm hoping it's a phase. -->In March I go to Japan shortly after the Fukushima meltdown just to get away. I come back and discover Mark has started online dating while living with me. I tell him to move out, so he does temporarily. -->Then around April/March he begins a hike of the Appalachian trail. -->When he gets back in the end of June/beginning of July, he moves his stuff out entirely and I begin the #100eulogiesproject. ... I try dating in July in an awkward Mormon way. I go to #singleadult activities and parties and put myself out there. Not really because i wanted to be in a relationship I'm not really a relationship person) but because I wanted revenge. That's one of those great lies we somehow tell ourselves when we've been left behind: that our partner still notices and still cares. And yet, our partner is over in a highschool football field singing #bigsean. "I got no feelings to go I swear I had it up to here, I got no ceilings to go." ... Even if i had been sincere about dating, there was nothing to find. It wasn't even that my standards were high. I was looking for some passion about literally anything, and some attraction to me (literally any amount), and neither of those criteria could be met in the #Mormondating scene.
