A Quick Word from our Sponsor
I’m a 30 year old jewish, bi-sexual, single lady living in New York City AND I’m. ready. to. settle. down. The person I dated most recently--the person who was supposed to be the “one”--didn’t quite work out (obviously), so I find myself begrudgingly back in the dating game. Whomp whomp.
I was recently complaining about all of this to my father. He was quiet as I whined on and on, but when I finally ran out of things to say, he took a breath and replied “Sweetie, you have to play in traffic to get hit.”
So what am I doing? I’m trying to figure out how to play in traffic, as it were. (And also trying to imagine that it was my sassy gay best friend who spoke those sage words to me rather than my father.)
I’m sure you know. It’s as frustrating as trying to logic why nearly half the voting population voted for Trump as it is to live in a city with *millions* of people where it’s somehow also nearly impossible to meet new people. Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink, AMIRITE?? But yeah, we all know: “SEX AND THE CITY” and the like have beaten this cliche to death.
And yet, all of my successful, bad-ass single lady friends have nary found a practical guide to both finding a life partner and a chill fuckbuddy--that’s where this blog comes in.
I’ve dedicated this blog (and my time) to this experiment: cultivating all the solicited and unsolicited advice I can find, whether it be online, 1st person tales, word of mouth, or some incredibly (un)original idea I come up and testing it ALL, with the intention of figuring out if there’s a formula for getting from Point A to Point B.
I will report my findings (no matter how embarrassing, because I have no shame) in vibrant detail in the hopes that you will be able to avoid my mistakes and learn equally from both my failures and successes. (After all, time is money and our time is especially valuable.)
TLDR:
1. Read blog
2. Try “dating” tips based on blog’s findings
3. ????
4. Profit
