Today was the anniversary of her Nana’s passing, the only day of the year she even stepped into a church. It was quiet, peaceful, and best of all dimly lit. She felt secure here, unlike her home. Mary groaned, she had fallen into a deep sleep. Even if it was only a few moments, it was the best sleep she’d had in months. Sleepy green eyes looked up to the man standing above her, embarrassment seeping into her stomach. Traces of dried tears lined her cheek. “I’m so sorry. I’ll leave.“ She quickly grabbed her bag and pushed by him to go towards the door.

Hell was vast, and it seemed new tents, booths and rides were springing up all the time. The Painted Doll had been with the Carnival for longer than she could keep track of, since its earliest days, and she knew most of the attractions by heart. Except for one; The Church of Mirrors.

Though she had never ventured into the Church of Mirrors, Doll was curious about it. And about the man that ran it; she had seen him about from time to time, and she knew that he had been a priest in life, but aside from that, he was a mystery to her.

And Doll just hated to not know.

It was this curiosity that eventually led her into the Church. As a Carnie and not a sinner, would she be safe from its tricks? She didn’t know, but her curiosity had grown too strong to stay away any longer.

Tell Him - Drabble ft. Will

Even as she listened to Will, her mind whirled to tell him so many warnings about The Countess. Tell him about the ones who hadn’t survived. Tell him about the ones who survived, but had scars inside and out. 

Tell him about her mental and emotional scars. Tell him how painful it was to grow up and find out the Báthory name was a curse. Tell him being a Báthory wreaked so much despair, destruction, and disaster that it was a wonder she survived it at all. 

Tell him about the ones surviving in this house day to day. 

Tell him how so many people connected to The Red Lady ended up paying the price for the woman’s actions. 

Tell him about Toulouse Tell him about Dorian Tell him about Adrian

Especially Abaddon, 

Tell Will about the ‘thing’ named Abaddon who found pleasure in torturing Izzie, who terrorized her in her sleep, and always found a way to remind her that none of this could have been possibly without The Red Lady.

Tell Will that for those who died underneath the Red Lady’s house, they were the lucky ones. They found peace and freedom.

Tell him this relationship he had with The Red Lady could only end in tragedy.

Tell him all of this, but it would be all for nothing. Will wasn’t ready. He might never be ready judging by the look in his eyes. The man was in too deep with Red Lady. He wasn’t born a Báthory, but he’d end up just like the others. 

Tell him he was ments meg, uram, dead man walking.

ooc: -secret- Dorian really does like him. He does not think he’s a douche (though mildly bitchy), and loves him dearly.

That's the biggest mystery to Chris too, because he's well aware he can be a dick. He knows he's judgmental and talks a lot of shit (despite the fact that he's also sort of a coward), so he doesn't get why someone honest and strong-moraled would feel anything but hate towards him. 

But Chris isn't about to go questioning his most secure relationship he's ever had.

Surprised at the sudden words coming from the woman, Dorian, as casually as you may, looked about them to see if there was someone else the stranger was talking to. Finding that it was, indeed him, Dorian smiled tenderly at her. 

"I don’t think I have to, so no. Why do you ask?"

"Curiosity. Most people in a bar are sad. They would do anything to not be. I've been paid ridiculous amounts of money to make people feel better about themselves." She was obviously a little more than tipsy, words with the letter 's' were slurring.

"And sometimes, I, um..." She chuckled, even though she looked sad. "I feel guilty about the money I have because people just want to feel better."
