siobhanblank replied to your post: “am i seriously the only one to whom thats the funniest fucking thing...”:
I don't really get it...
i dont even know how to explain it or if there is anything to explain. its like the kind of thing a stupid little animal would do i guess
siobhanblank replied to your post: “Because Fullmetal Alchemist is known for its...
Ummmm, Ed is a he/him lesbian????
Alex Armstrong threw a boulder at stonewall
siobhanblank replied to your post “Okay,,, but, Connie's clearly a lesbian going through comp-het phase,...”
we hardly see her interact with anyone her own age besides steven let alone girls, so we just never get to see on screen how much she absolutely loves them Connie's lesbianism is exactly as canon and well developed as Lapis and Peridot's relationship
ur absolutely right. i cant believe connie maheswaran is canonically a lesbian
siobhanblank replied to your post: Hey, don’t check out “Made in Abyss” cus it is...
Ah, did you see my posts about it?
Oh no, I will check those out now! I just read about this stuff just now cus my gf talked about it and I have Seen Some Shit! Honestly, I wish Japan would do something about the horrible fiction it just allows to be made for everyone to see...
siobhanblank replied to your post “@siobhanblank yeah because iirc ea didnt give the team any chances to...”
...so why the hell are ppl bitching about "blowing issues out of proportion"?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
YOU'RE BACK!
Yup.
I think I’m gonna be ok. c:
as if that was ever anywhere near a valid argument in the first place; how do you even get it in your head that "sensitive boy" representation is more important than rep for girls of color?
EXACTLY. THANK YOU.
mod b here. even though this is about mod s’ post, i just want to throw in my two cents real quick.
while i appreciate that a lot of people seem to get the point of the post and are agreeing with likes and reblogs, it honestly rubbed me the wrong way when some people were COMPLETELY missing the point and sidetracking the post by nitpicking over the example characters mod s picked. now i know you all probably didn’t mean to, but… still.
whether or not the characters mod s showed were all the perfect choices for her post, it still stands that brown girls have near to NOTHING in terms of representation. you can make an entire list of “kind and sensitive” boy leads. but i dare ANY of you to name a brown girl lead. that ISN’T korra. and even if you could name another brown girl lead 1) please tell me ‘cause jeezums i’d love to know, and 2) it still doesn’t even COMPARE to the long list of good boy lead characters.
so yes, connie being the main lead would be far more groundbreaking than steven.
- mod b, a brown girl who just wants a little more representation in her life for goodness sake
mob b pretty much hit the nail on the head there, fellas. let brown girls be heroes. damn.ps: i’m not an idiot. i watch gumball and yeah, he’s a good kid. sorry to break it to ya, people constantly telling me otherwise
