analysis: sir duke

the song i decided to analyze was Sir Duke, produced, written, arranged and composed by none other than Stevie Wonder (1976). Stevie Wonder is one of my all time favorites and Sir Duke is in my top three. when you start the song, you hear drums, trumpet, and saxes (to me sounds like alto and tenor). the brass sound is so clean and clear (no not the face wash), a great sound! then comes the bass and guitar (lead and rhythm guitar). the bass line has a great groove to it and it plays a huge part as to why this song is a great vibe. i think i hear a bit of electric piano, but the brass and percussion are very powerful, and it’s a tad hard to tell! finally, you have the wonderful vocals of Stevie Wonder himself. all of these make the song we know and love today, Sir Duke.
