“That’s actually a tough one,” the younger vampire replied and scratched his chin. “Depends on what sort of intelligence we’re talking about, wouldn’t it? I mean, Warden is a very knowledgeable man, he’s book smart, but he’s not very good with emotions. Same with my brother; very book smart, but only slightly better with people. 

Signy on the other hand is a very personable woman, and so is Tortulja. They are both easy to like, and they read people and emotions better than most.

Then there’s Luther and Alastair, who I’m sure possesses the most knowledge of all of the people I know, but Luther isn’t very personable…

If I had to pick only one, I think I’d have to go with Alessandra. She’s the most rounded of us, at leas tin my opinion.”

((how does Signy hide her vampirism in such a crowded town like Solitude? or does she have a little pull with someone important that keeps the guards and people off her?))

((Signy usually uses her albinism as a ‘cover up’ for the other ‘obvious’ signs of vampirism. Often she ‘take offense’ at someone calling her a vampire based on nothing more than her pale skin and reddened irises, explaining her albinism and what comes along with it.

That, coupled with her generally good mood and friendly demeanor, often keeps people from believing the ‘worst’ from her. She feeds sparingly (enough to keep her ‘level’), and never kills or infects those she feeds from. She worked in the Hall before, and now works in her own taxidermy shop, thus giving her plenty of excuses for not being out in the sun (along with her albinism as another excuse).

But — if someone gets too nosy, her sire (Alastair) has enough pull with some of the higher ups in the town to keep them from becoming a problem))

4. Who did they look up to the most as a child? Who do they look up to as an adult?

Signy looked up to her father most as a child. Her mother was a close second, of course, as she spent most of her time with her mother, but her father held a very special place in her heart. He provided for Signy and her mother, he taught her about taxidermy, he was always there for her when she needed him.

As an adult, she looks up to Alastair, as she pulled her from the brink of becoming feral.

10. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe?

There is honestly little that makes Signy feel insecure or unsafe. She is generally surrounded by those she cares about, and thus usually feels safe. Fire mages tend to make her feel somewhat uncomfortable, as does hot weather, but other than that - she is generally secure in her surroundings and her self.

28. What is a gift that they have received that was especially touching or significant?

Though not technically a ‘gift’ per se, Signy views the confidence that Aquila talked into her as an especially significant moment. If not for her, Signy might not have ever opened her taxidermy shop.

"Pardon me, ma'am," Sinead said, her accent thick. "I was sent by a few of those... grey mages - I believe? - to give you a hug." The elder vampire smiled brightly and pulled the woman into a warm, friendly embrace. "I'll get out of your hair now, dear."

"Yes?" Ashleigh replied and looked up from the book she was reading in. She listened to the other woman talk, and offered her a warm smile. A hug wasn’t so bad, she figured, and Asher embraced the woman in return.

“I live in Solitude, with Alastair and my brother Warden.”

30 Days of Character Development [Day 22]

Plots and Time Travel

Describe one (or more) plots you would like to do. Really just Signy getting more interaction with others would be fun.

22.) If your character could time travel, where would they go? She'd go back to when all of her vampire buddies were little kids, and she'd give them sweet rolls and would play tag or hide-and-seek with them. (This includes -- Sammy, Zepp, Raum, Luther, Alastair, and Warden).

"Gardening again, love?" Alastair asked with a quirked brow. "As long as it keeps you entertained..." He trailed off and walked over to the elder vampire and planted a kiss on Luther's mouth. "Keep up the good work, hm? It's starting to look quite lovely out here," he said when he pulled away, before he turned and headed back inside.

The elder vampire turned to look over his shoulder at the familiar voice. What happened next was something completely unexpected and the vampire let out a muffled noise of surprise.

He let out a short, half-hearted laugh and said:”And you are still as amusing as always,” the chuckling dying out as he spoke.
