Lost Little Brother || Open
It was supposed to be a fun day. Alex had everything planned out. Her and her friends were planning to spend the day at the mall, scoping out hot boys and buying new outfits and bathing suits for the summer. But as always, whenever she had something she was looking forward to coming up, something always had to come along to ruin it.
Which was why she wasn't all that surprised--more disappointed and frustrated--when her father told her he had to work and their Aunt was busy. Which meant that she was going to have to watch Jack. Sighing and suppressing the groan she so desperately wanted to make, she just nodded her head, resigned to the fact that she wasn't going to get to go on this shopping extravaganza after all.< /small>
At least, that's what she had thought. But when one of her friends suggested she bring Jack along, it seemed like the perfect plan. Sure, he probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as she would, but she was tired of always having to sacrifice her social life to take care of him. He was her brother and she loved him, but she was tired of also feeling like his mother.
With the plan all set, she told Jack what was going on and instructed him to stay with her at all times. They then made their way to the mall and met up with her friends. Everything seemed to be going fine until after lunch. Alex was planning to take Jack to get a toy for being so good, but when she turned around to tell him this, he wasn't there.
Her heart pounding in her chest, she started looking for him at all the shops nearby. When she still couldn't find him, the fear of him having been kidnapped increased tenfold and she felt herself shaking. Pulling out her phone, she dialed her fathers phone number and waited for him to pick up.
Before he could even say hello, she was shouting into her phone. "I took Jack with me to the mall and I can't find him," she practically screamed, tears filling her eyes. "He was right beside me one second, and then I turned around and he was gone and I have no idea where he is." Wiping a stray tear away, she waited for her father to say something, continuing to walk around the mall in the hopes that he was just trying to play a mean prank on her.
No, but honestly, the best thing about having so many Hotch’s on here that Alex interacts with is that she has a unique relationship with each and every one of them. They aren’t all the same. And that is just awesome, in my opinion. Especially since all the Hotch’s here are amazingly perfect and I love all of you, okay.

First Case || Closed
The day she’d gotten word that she would starting at the BAU was one of the most exciting days in Alex’s life. In high school, she’d been sure she would never make anything of herself and now... Now she was following in her father’s footsteps, working with his team to help bring down the scumbags who thought they were so clever and could never be caught. Needless to say, Alex felt very highly of herself for making it this far.
Perhaps a little too highly. It was only her first week, and she was already growing bored with the meaningless tasks that had to be performed when they weren’t on an active case. Folders that had to be gone through, and paperwork that had to be filed. Sure, it was all part of the job, but it wasn’t the part that Alex wanted to have anything to do with. Not that she could complain. The bad part about having her father as her boss was that she knew he would more than likely tell her to “suck it up” because it was all part of the job.
So she did. She just continued to plow through file after file until the day came when they got another case. Alex had never felt this much anticipation and nervousness at the same time before. This was her first case; her first real chance to prove to everyone--including both her fathers (seeing as Hotch had married Morgan and he was fairly active in the parenting duty)--that she deserved to be there.
After being told to meet at the jet in thirty minutes, she stayed behind in the room as everyone else left, wanting to talk to her father and Morgan. “So... this is the real deal now, right? I’m not gonna be sidelined during this?” she asked, her brow raised as she looked between the two of them, hoping they weren’t planning to make her stay wherever headquarters were stationed to keep her out of the action.
"You are my sunshine, Ragamuffin."
Send me “You are my sunshine” for my muse’s reaction to yours dying in their arms.
The situation was intense. More intense than anybody had expected it to be. It had started out with a “being in the wrong place at the wrong time” type of situation. Alex had been out having a good time with her friends one minute, and the next, she found herself being held hostage by a man who had just robbed the bank attached to the mall. A gun was held to her head and her body was visibly trembling.
When word had gotten out that this was happening, the police had arrived within ten minutes. One of the men on the force recognized Alex–he was friends with her father–and he’d placed a call to the FBI headquarters to let the agents know what was going on.
That was what had caused Hotch and the rest of the team to arrive with lights and sirens blaring in the shortest amount of time they’d ever gotten anywhere. It was no surprise to anyone when Aaron was the first one out of the car. He wanted to negotiate with the perp. Yes, he knew it was against the rules, because his family was involved, but he was sure he could convince him to let his daughter go.
Ordering everyone back, he stepped slowly up to the man, hand resting on his holster without pulling his gun out. “I just want to talk to you,” he assured, looking at Alex to convey to her that as soon as she had the opportunity, she needed to run. “That girl has nothing to do with this. If you let her go, nobody needs to get hurt.”
“What do you know?” the man asked, his gun digging even more into Alex’s head, causing a whimper of pain to escape her mouth. “Maybe I want to take her down with me. Maybe that’s why I grabbed her in the first place. Why do you care so much about her fate?”
“Because she’s just a child,” Hotch answered. “She’s my child. And I need you to let her go.”
It was the wrong thing to say. The man stared from Hotch to Alex and back again. With the perp’s eyes focused on Alex, Hotch quickly drew his gun from its holster, though he wasn’t fast enough. The perp had seen the movement from the corner of his eye, whipped his gun around and fired three shots at point blank range into the agent.
One of the police stepped up and fired one shot clean into the perp’s head, killing him instantly. When Alex was sure that she was free, she ran over to where her father was now lying in a puddle of his own blood, kneeling over him with tears streaming down her face.
“Daddy!” she screamed, shaking her head as she watched his face grow paler and paler. “Daddy, please, no!”
“Alex… Ragamuffin,” he whispered, his voice creaking from the extra effort it was taken him to breathe. “I love you. Take care… of Jack… Please.” It was the last thing she would ever hear her father say. Throwing herself on top of him, she clung to his suit, screaming as Derek came up behind her to try and take her away.
“Leave me alone!” she screamed, elbowing him in the stomach and clutching at her father again. “Leave me the hell alone!” she yelled again for effect, unwilling to leave her father’s body. “I love you, daddy,” she whispered, even though she knew he was no longer there and wouldn’t be able to hear the words anyway. “I love you.”
It was only after the word had been uttered that she allowed Derek to lift her into his arms and carry her away from the one man who was guaranteed to love her all her life. Alex did the only thing she knew how to do–she buried her face in Derek’s chest and cried, as she came to accept the fact that she was now an orphan.

Twenty-One: Your muse blindfolds mine
Derek didn’t know what had caused him to agree to this. He had never enjoyed sensory deprivation, and not being able to see what would come next was not his cup of tea. Yet, at the same time, he found it enthralling; exciting; something new to try. The total blindness the blindfold was causing meant having to rely on his other senses to determine what was going on.
“Can you at least give me a hint as to what you plan to do to me?” he asked, resisting the urge to reach up and pull the blindfold away.
"Do you want to spend the night?"
Affectionate Starters
“Yes. I would love to,” Derek replied, a smile flitting across his face. After their discussion, Morgan wasn’t sure what would happen. Now that he was being asked over, he knew that he had to accept. This time was different from all the other times. It felt different. This time, he knew he wasn’t just being invited over for a good time. There was something much more deep and intense about it, and Morgan knew that even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t be able to resist the invitation.
