Hopelessly trying || Sirius & Hestia

Sirius wasn't exactly a hearts and flowers kind of guy -- not that he didn't want to be, but he didn't really know how. Of course he knew how to get what he wanted, but he didn't know how to actually show that someone was more than just what he wanted. If that made any sort of sense at all. So Sirius did what he could do, he snuck into the girls dorm and put flowers all over Hestia's bed and quickly snuck his way out with the help of James' cloak, though he made it more than obvious when he was dropping flower pedals on the way back to the common room.

An apple a day || Sirius & Remus

As the last of the students filed out of the classroom, Sirius propped his feet up on the desk and thumbed through the rolls of parchment that had been turned in. "You know, these kids are a lot smarter now than when we were when we took this class." Then again, if he had actually tried in school... That was neither here nor there. That and Remus was always the smartest of the two. Dumbledore had been nice enough to give them both the job of teaching the class. It worked out perfectly in that Sirius could cover on the nights of the full moon and Snape could just eat his words all at once. "It's just really weird being here again, though. Especially seeing Harry and Arthur's kid. Though, I smell trouble on the horizon." He picked up Draco's scroll and sighed holding it up. "Malfoy has awful pretty handwriting." A small smirk tugged his features.

You were my brother, once || Sirius & Regulus

There was a time were he was close with his brother: they shared everything and Sirius knew he could count on him despite the age difference between them. That all changed the year Regulus started at Hogwarts and was sorted into the Black family house -- otherwise known as Slytherin. Then it was like someone flipped the switch because Sirius was no longer worthy, so Regulus became their father's spy and Sirius could no longer do anything without having to own up to it later. Now that he was almost graduated, he was almost free of his family's grasp and he sat in the study of the manor and looked up from the book once he heard someone come in. "Father's not here." He murmured and there was resentment laced in his words.

The lion and the snake || Sirius & Lucius

If fate had been crueler and given Sirius a different path, it wouldn’t have been Malfoy running things. As is, if Sirius truly wanted, he could still just kick his ass and be done with it, but as always Remus was his voice of reason and kept him from crossing that line the Black was always straddling.

"One of these days, Malfoy, you’re going to be on the wrong end of someone’s wand and nobody will be around to save you." Sirius stated as he heard the words murmured around them as he lounged on the stone wall. "And for once in my life i hope it’s mine. Now if you would kindly leave Longbottom alone, we can go about our day without me having to rearrange your face. Though i’m hoping you’ll be a little twat and make my day." The cigarette was placed back between his lips as he tried to keep the grin from showing too much.

An unexpected encounter || Sirius & Orion

There was a whole list of things he'd rather do than go and see his father. Like throw himself off the observation deck at Hogwarts. And Remus had to convice him that seeing his father was not a fate worse than death. But Remus had never met his father. Once upon a time, Sirius had been the favored son. He was the eldest and the most talented. He used to make his parents so proud, that is until he came to the age where he could think for himself and realized how wrong his family's values were. It didn't matter the heritage but the strength of the magic that counted. As soon as the sorting hat placed him in Gryffindor, Sirius knew that was the end of everything. And he wasn't completely wrong. Though there were times, like these, that he would be called home and the usual dance of trying to get him to reconsider his choices and make 'the right ones'. But that wasn't what scared him the most. His father was exceptionally strong and cunning. This call to home didn't feel right, and as Sirius stood in Orion's study, he just hoped his instincts were wrong this time.

Strained Meetings || Sirius & Bellatrix

Fingers splayed against the side of his face as he sat at the overly large banquet table in the manor. It was that time of year again that no matter if he was shunned and outcasted, he was still forced to make an appearance. A long leg was flung over the arm and he sat unceremoniously and he could really care less. Only one good thing came from this dinner. He'd convinced Remus to go visit his mother and that he'd meet him there soon. Sirius didn't want him to have to endure his family any longer than he himself wanted to. But it was customary and it looked good for him. That is until Bellatrix showed up. He sighed and closed his eyes. Once upon a time they'd been close. Before she started to hate him like the rest of the family aside from andromeda. It was sad, but it was to be expected. Pale eyes watched his cousin come into the room with her new husband, an equally annoying prat and he was thankful he would be largely ignored. He really wasn't in the mood for this, but he'd bet a hundred gallions that some sort of fight would break out. "Hello to you too, cousin."

Catching Up || Padfoot & Wormtail

Sirius knew something had to change, and he'd had a long talk with Remus who looked at him as if he'd grown a second head when he suggested the idea that he'd take Peter to Hogsmeade so that they can spend some time catching up. Sirius wasn't blind, he knew that they needed to include Peter in more things and this was the perfect opportunity to do just that. "Hey, Wormtail. Get dressed and meet me in the common room in five." He nudged his friend with his hand before he left the bedroom and headed down the stairs. Sirius wasn't a prat all of the time. He had his redeeming qualities at times, and this happened to be one of his better ideas. Classes hadn't started yet so they had time to kill even though it was close to the full moon.

Repairing ties || Sirius & Bellatrix

To say that Sirius and Bellatrix didn't get along was like saying is the rain wet. It just wasn't happening and even when they were younger, before Hogwarts was even an issue, she made his life hell. Years later, it hadn't gone much better. "You know those values they shoved down your throat aren't the right way to think, Bells. You can come out of that crazy little shell of yours and actually see that the world isn't nearly as black and white as our parents made us believe they are." In truth, he wanted to have some connection with his family, so he'd try.
