Surprised I haven't posted this here yet, but here's a piece of fanart for Sitcom Dnd!
Sometimes a family is four jerks and their jerk rat and I think that's beautiful.

this happened to my good friend Beef
I've tried to make this post multiple times on Twitter to no avail.
Please
My podcast enjoying siblings
Please recommend me your favorite comedy podcast. Any kind literally any kind that is comedy centric. A podcast that makes you laugh. A podcast that makes you feel (specifically mirth and warmth and goodness). A podcast that brings you comfort in this fucked up world of ours.
I will gladly offer a few of my favorites, in a simple pitch (check my tag 'podcast recommendations' or search my page for Podcasts, I've made a few posts, if you'd like more than just comedy and more than just a quick pitch) :
-Hey Riddle Riddle - a Riddle podcast hosted by three improv professionals who are also good friends. If you love committing to the bit and inside jokes, you'll love this one.
-Sitcom D&D - holy shit if you liked Hey Riddle Riddle you'll love this one. One of the hosts (Erin) from HRR are in this one, and I seriously can't recommend it enough if you like DnD, improv comedy, and again... Committing to the bit.
-My Dad Wrote a Porno - what it says on the box. Bad porn read by good friends. Recommend listening on your daily commute if you'd like a cheeky little secret in your ears.
-Wooden Overcoats - a macabre dramedy featuring heavy themes like death, but with a cast of *characters* that keep it light and full of levity somehow. Great for the audio drama crowd that needs a bit of easy listening.
Thank you for reading, please drop your fave comedy pods - including if YOU made it!! Pitch me YOUR comedy podcast.... But only if it's reeeeally funny lol
please someone talk to me about sitcom dnd…..please…..:.
Have you heard of SitcomD&D? There's just one episode out so far but it's fantastic, the premise is cool and everyone on it is hilarious. I'm spreading the word because I want some fanartists to get into the show, I need fanart of Beef immediately, so if you could share this with your followers that would be great!
i normally don't take podcast recs but this was really intriguing so here's my review!
pros:
- the players are all super comfortable with each other (they're irl friends so it makes sense!) and super comfortable on the mic. the intro already had me chuckling because they're great at riffing off one another.
- i genuinely like the concept! i think it's a fun premise and i'm a sitcom fan so i like all the little references to real shows.
- i also like the characters. it's hard to tell how they're going to be fleshed out from one episode but since all of the players have strong improv backgrounds they're able to play their characters very well.
- i love that there's a theme song!
cons:
- extremely limited on actual gameplay. and as someone who loves rude tales of magic that is usually not a problem for me but i think there was one roll in the entire episode? and it didn't really affect the story? it kind of seems like the players just wanted to do long form improv and use the medium of a dnd podcast to get it out into the world. which, do not get me wrong, they are very good at long form improv! but it doesn't feel like dnd.
- same with combat. i thought when the combat popped up at the end of the episode it'd feel more like dnd but i believe there was, again, one roll and the rest was improv. never thought i'd be someone who wanted more combat but i was kind of disappointed!
- the laugh track. i get why they're using it and it was funny at first but it's so loud compared to the dialogue that it becomes genuinely overbearing. i hope they ease back in future episodes!
tl;dr: the players are all incredible improvisers and i definitely laughed a few times but i'm not sure any of them like or know how to play dungeons and dragons. it's kind of hard to get a feel from a dnd podcast from one episode so i'll be listening to the next couple, but if you prefer the gameplay to roleplay, this is not the podcast for you!
From the near ending scene of Sitcom D&D’s episode 18 True Love’s Kiss…ing Booth.
