I did a homestay with this family in Vang Vieng, Laos, I've done many homestays over the years and nearly half a dozen on this trip alone, this was an awkward experience. There is so much id love to share with you about my recent 7 day silent meditation retreat with @artofmeditation but to gabble away sixty to the dozen doesn't seem reflective of our time there. These words came to me this afternoon that are enough for now. 🙏🏼 . . <Sitting In Silence> Free from the hum Of electronics & wifi We sit silent tuning into stillness. . Notable absent is the fizz of the electromagnetic web we've woven through our world. . Our greatest disturbance is the mind With its monkey-chatter. Pinning it down is like grasping smoke: impossible. . its actually my own video and i haven’t put it online! i wasn’t going to bc honestly the sound quality is really bad lmao - i could hear them pretty well during the concert but i was behind the speakers and it was reeeeally windy that night so you can actually hear the crowd better than the band at some points in the recording :P but if you’d like me to i could upload it to tumblr for the visual :)
