So remember that drabble I mentioned before? It’s... kinda morphed into a full-fledged story and I’m having a blast writing it for a change. I actually wanted to share just a little piece of it too... I might dial the writing back a wee bit in revision, but I love writing the Sleeping Knights and need to find more excuses to do so.

“You told them you wanted to think about it? Why?”

“You know why!” Yuuki balled her hands into fists and thrust them toward the ground, eyes shut tight, face bright enough to guide Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. She paced the floor of the restaurant a few times before stopping in front of her friend. “I can't, I just can't!”

Whereas Yuuki wore her emotions with all the subtlety of a thunderstorm, the expressions of Siune's avatar could be as hard to decode as a military cipher. She pursed her lips and, save for a slight tilt of her head and elevated eyebrows, betrayed nothing of her response. When it came, it was calm and nuanced as ever.

“It's just a game mechanic. It doesn't have to mean anything.” She paused, the head tilt exaggerated, her lips flirted with forming a smile. Yuuki knew that look. The closest Siune came to sarcasm was coming. “Besides, didn't you already ask her to marry you once before?”
