this is pretty humiliating. when was the last time he went to buy groceries? not ever, he's fairly sure. one would think that's inherent for the job of a servant, but break was never really a servant. a proper knight, once upon a time, and then sheryl rainsworth's favourite guard dog, assigned to her granddaughter.
all this to say, this? it never happens. he's standing in one of those grocery stores the island has, and it's awful. the paper bag in his arms is not that heavy, only a package of eggs, a cabbage and some tea herbs within, yet break can't help but wonder if this is just a cruel twist of fate. he doesn't even like eating meals with these ingredients, but zhilan had asked him to acquire them before he's done with work for the day, so they can have proper dinner later ... and it's not like he had anything else to do. he thought the fresh air might be nice.
after a turn, break is fairly focused on getting out of the store. only that, once he actually exits ... he senses a person nearby, hunkered down next to the doorframe. by one of those big metal boxes that contain little treats. he'd stopped somebody from beating one up before, he remembers that. but this person ...
oh. break grins.
' are you stuck? ' seems like they stuck their arm up the flap on the bottom, trying to grab one of the sweets out of the machine. isn't that funny. perhaps he's being rewarded now, after being so brave about his chore. ' no need to be embarrassed! happens to the best of us. or so i'm told. looking a little silly, down there. '
