my controversial take of the unspecified time period:
"fiction does affect reality" is just an excuse to call everybody in the proship community a predator because theyre all little wusses and dont like what the proship community does
theres a very big thick girthy line between pro/darkshipping and actual pedophilic/predatory behavior thats apparently drawn in invisible ink because people REFUSE to see it
while some proshippers dont use this as a coping mechanism it is still an outlet for the mentally ill which is far better than the other outlets that people try like PREYING ON CHILDREN.
even for the ones that do its super odd to tell them things like "just get help", because if getting help was that easy (and the help actually fucking did something), do you think theyd still be here? proshipping is a good mechanism for people embarassed to talk about their feelings (and rightfully so because we live in a world where somebody with a paraphilia will open up and ask for advice and immediately get death threats from all across america) or people who dont find any comfort in other outlets that people give them.
and another steaming hot take for the more lighthearted: the "children on this app" arent my issue, because the platforms that the proship community are active on are infact usually for adults or teenagers (mind u teenagers are also in the darkship community) in spaces kids arent allowed to be in, so if their internet access is not monitored then that falls on the fault of the parents, not me! im not going to start censoring my shit because adults want to throw ipads at their toddlers instead of playing with them
