Campus call center shut down, students lose jobs

Way back in the day I ran for Coach Quinn at Saint Joseph's University. I was a walk-on to the team, one of those guys whom other coaches at the Division 1 level would probably have not given the time of day. But he gave me a chance and while I was never a team star, I got to represent the Hawks and am proud to have been part of our great track and cross country tradition. He never coddled me. In fact, at times he was brutally honest; I remember how crushed I was when he told me my future was in the 5k and 10k, not the mile where I had no chance of competing with the front runners. But I learned from that experience, remade myself and got stronger for it as both a runner and a person. It probably says something too, that not only am I still running and competing today, but also coaching. I'm grateful for the opportunity to pass it on. Thanks, Coach! THWND!
