free-range as a concept of how chickens are kept is still far from ethical though, in my opinion. People think it means chickens running around in gigantic spaces, which from what i’ve gathered is far from the case

They are my neighbour's chickens - they really do run around a gigantic space. :)

Ah, that's true, too. I'm fairly certain she keeps her male chickens in a separate area and they haven't been killed, but I'd have to check.

Yeah, the wound wasn't close enough to a major artery (even though it was like 3 inches from my jugular, yeah.. explain to me how that isn't close) for her to get a deadly weapons charge. She just got simple assault and harassment.

Edit: Actually, what I meant to say is that it wasn't close enough to a major artery for her to get aggravated assault. The deadly weapons charge was dropped as a part of her plea agreement. Sorry, it's been a while since I actually went to the preliminary hearing.

Hey, I just wanted to say your blog is awesome! I've only recently gone vegetarian, partly because I realised just how weird eating meat is, I think Vegan would be a bit of a step for me so far but I do think perhaps one day, because the idea of milk and eggs still creeps me out a little. Anyway, keep up the good work!
