Skam Hate
So now that Skam is over and I have too much time on my hands, I wanted to say my opinion on the whole Skam thing happening for the past few weeks. I'm not the one to make tumblr posts normally, but I've had enough of all the hate towards Skam and especially Julie Andem. Whenever a new update was uploaded the first people did was complain. "Skam cancelled","Julie Andem cancelled","Skam has become so shitty" etc. And it pisses me off so much. Obviously a show is never perfect. Every show has flaws. But giving it so much hate is just really immature because it wasn't just saying an opinion anymore it was just straight up hate that Julie got. It seemed like she couldn't do anything right anymore. And yes, I agree on a few things. Yes, I think there are some good points against some things that Julie did. But you don't have to hate when you could just state you opinion? I'm not a muslim so I can never judge on how well Islam was actually portraited. I can only asume if it was good representation or not. I think it was, because I actually learned a few things and it helped me to understand Sanas situation better. But I don't want to judge on how good it actually was, because I can't say things out of a perspective of a muslim. Maybe it was disappointing for some muslims. Maybe they hoped for more or better representation. Maybe they're sad because they were so excited for Sanas season. I don't know that and like I said, I can't judge. What I'm trying to say is that Julie Andem for sure tried her best. She came up with so many plot lines, connections and meanings behind characters and things in the show. And I think that instead of bashing her work because it's not flawless, we should all be thankful about having a show that touches so many important topics. Yes, it's not perfect and yes one could probabaly improve a lot. But Julie worked hard and did her best for sure. But nobody is perfect and that's fine. If you really didn't like what she was doing it's fully okay to criticise. But it's never okay to hate because something is not flawless. Skam is trying to teach us to spread love instead of hate after all.
