Kevin McHale is all of us.
not that shay’s season should’ve focused exclusively on other characters, but i can’t stop thinking about how austin actually set up so many plot points and dynamics in s1 and 2 that would’ve been explored properly in s3 and i’m so bitter we’ll never get to see it
like let’s presume that eve was definitely shay’s eskild. they get closer and eve invites shay over to the olsen house, which would’ve also inherently caused some sort of relationship between grace and shay right? and through grace and shay’s dynamic, they’ve also set up a more organic, interconnected inclusion of things like:
- shay/megan: meg at the olsen’s whilst shay is also there? developing a proper shaygan reconciliation plot, maybe also addressing meg’s drinking - shay being concerned, alcoholism/addiction as a mental illness, which might also connect to american!even; plus each of their relationships with marlon, and how they change once shay comes out to him. does he react badly? does meg definitively choose her friendship with shay > romance with marlon?
- tyler as green nail polish girl: shay indirectly being another link between him and grace. does she ever find out that it’s him? and how do his experiences with mental illness also come into play when american!even is introduced? (plus again: him and meg knowing that shay’s gay, connecting back to marlon who doesn’t; drama in cfgc? what role does the band/music play in the season etc)
- grace/megan in the locker room: the “not every lesbian wants you” comment being homophobic, so connecting the idea from s2 of grace needing to confront her own beliefs. this occurring alongside meg’s ‘redemption arc’ with shay = allowing shay to become closer to the rest of the girl squad too? which then opens up the isak/sana dynamic (+ even/sana dynamic), as well as giving jo and kelsey background development
and god these are just three examples, i know if i rewatched s2 i could find more but austin really set up all of these dynamics and stories so well. bitter forever!!!
Till my dying breath I will scream fuck Facebook watch for cancelling Skam Austin

I’ve said this before, but I feel like I have to say it again. As a fat woman it is very disheartening to see Chris be skinny-washed in majority of adaptations, or at the very least be noticeably smaller than she was in the original. I love that so many of them are queer (I’m gonna cry when season 2 of Skam Esp drops) but Chris Berg was one of the first positive representations of a fat teen I saw so the fact that she’s not fat in most adaptations is really upsetting.
do people always fall in love with things they can't have?
