WIP Wednesday

I’m trying to focus a bit more on my writing so.... here’s a post about my works in progress. It’s sort of a sad list, because I have abandoned a lot of ideas and given them up. And still, I am happy that I have these ideas, loose ends, bits and bobs, because I know they can be good to find. 

First of all, I have Soul-utions to myth-conceptions that I’m writing in a collab with @evakuality. We are just about to post chapter 12 and we are writing on chapter 16. Five more chapters left, and I’m really excited about beginning to wrapping things up! I mean, it’s not like I want to leave our Matteo and David, but I just really want them to get their happy ending. 

My fairytale/ folktale Evak story. I started on this thing in December 2019, but quickly found out that it didn’t quite work. It will need to change a lot. We’ll see how that goes. I still like the main idea, but I might simplify it. This story was originally also mixed with this tarot card idea, and I am thinking about splitting up these ideas. One fairy tale story. One tarot story. We’ll see how it goes. 

Here’s an attempt at making edits that I can paint later. As you can see, I’m trying out different styles etc.:

I have another folktale idea, but I don’t know what to do about that yet. Maybe it won’t fit any of my ships, so I’ll end up writing something original. I also want to write something in Norwegian.

It’s so hard to pick faves, but I think I’ll choose this one (because someone else pointed to it once):

19. any new fics to start next year

I want to try something I have thought about for a long time, to make a short comic. Maybe for Skam, or for Druck, I haven’t decided. I also have an idea for a Skam story where each chapter has a tarot card with a character or a scene. And I started on a fairy tale thing earlier this year, but I think I’m gonna do some big changes with that, so it might end up quite different. And then it’s like a new fic, isn’t it?! So yeah. Lots of ideas, and we’ll see what I’ll start to do first!

“I can’t believe that you managed to lose your phone,” Even huffs as they go back to the empty bar. The joint looks weird without all the guests and with the lights on. Even’s head is spinning after all the alcohol and all the music and all the other impressions that have bombarded him all evening.

“Says who?” Elias grins. “You lose stuff all the time.”

He seems surprisingly little worried about his loss, and it’s not even because he’s tipsy. Elias doesn’t drink. Even is a tipsy enough for both of them, probably.

The bar desk is empty when they approach it and they’re busy bumping each other and laughing when a gorgeous guy turns up behind the desk and surprises the hell out of Even. He yelps.

“We’re closing. What are you doing here?” the guy demands.

Even stares. He knows that gorgeous face. The guy’s older than Even remembers, yeah, but there’s no way he’d forget Isak Valtersen. Isak was at Nissen when Even repeated his year there, and had been the beginning of Even’s adolescent adventures in pansexuality. At least in his dreams.

“What do you want?” Isak says, looking tired, although there’s a hint of recognition in his face as he watches them.

Even grins. “Meeting the love of my life.”

I am having a lot of fun creating fandom things, like writing stuff and painting. I know I’m far from the best, but I’m having fun. And I have expressed again and again that I like to get constructive criticism if people want to offer it. Of course, this is on the things I have written or made personally, I can’t speak for other writers or artists that I collaborate with. In the collabs I’m in, it’s better to stick to the convention on AO3. However, if you ever want to concrit my personal work please don’t hold back in your comments on AO3 or here on Tumblr. I have fabulous beta readers, but I still want all the feedback. I believe it can help me grow as a writer and a painter.

Of course, with concrit I mean stuff like “I’ve noticed you use this word a lot”, or  “I would love it if you added some descriptions”... or “you could work on your shading in this picture” or stuff like that. Not “Isak is bottom, you asshole!”, or “you art is pornography”. That means that I prefer something helpful, specific and something that can be actioned. 

I am happy if people contact me if they have issues with how I do things, too. Yesterday I got an ask about my smutty art, telling me to not spread “pornographic” images of the actors on different sites. It was an ask in Norwegian, so I answered it in Norwegian, but I would love to just say some things in English as well. Because this affects you who follow me and the stuff I make.

First of all, I paint the characters from Skam, and not the actors. The sensitive things I paint are always consensual and happening between adults. I see that this for some still can seem not right, and I respect that. And some do really not want to see adult content. That’s why I always tag things well on Ao3. Now I also have added warnings in the “chapters” to only scroll down with caution. Also, I have made my Insta account private. 

As I said, I am glad for constructive criticism on the things I have made, and I’m happy to change things if I somehow have offended someone or done something wrong. Still, I would like to be treated with at least an ounce of respect. These things I make, I make in my free time, and for no pay. I do it because I love Skam and want to share my love. When you express yourself in a partly threatening manner, or when you shame me, I don’t like that. And I will not answer it in the future. I will answer constructive criticism, and objections to how I do things, both here and on AO3.

Have u ever written something driven by some song? Which one have inspired you most?

Hi! I’m so sorry I have left this ask for so long in my inbox. I was going to just think a little to come up with a very cool answer and then, in the end, I forgot. And I didn’t really have a cool answer. Stuff like this happens with me sometimes, and I’m really sorry. But. To be honest, I can only say that I have written one thing driven by a song, and it was the first fic I wrote, “Don’t leave me (alone)”. The “O Helga Natt” scene and Nils Bech’s song was what made me write the Church scene that sort of started the story. 

When I was younger, and I wrote shitty poems, I was inspired by music all the time. I loved a music genre that people today probably haven’t heard much about - grunge. Alice in Chains, for instance. PJ Harvey. Oh, and I was a huge fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers too (before they lost their spark). I’ve always liked a lot of different music, but whenever I hear some of this, I feel alive. 

Now that I start to recall all that music and music festivals I have been to, I recall that my fic “Trollbundet/ Spellbound” also was inspired by music. Not a specific song, but an enchanting genre that mixes rock and Norwegian folk music.

Fanfic works in progress

I felt like making an overview over the things I am writing on or working with. Maybe it’s interesting for you too? Here they are, anyway.

All things life has to offer. A Vilde/ Eva oneshot in Vilde’s POV. Future fic, where Vilde works as a psychologist. She stresses a lot. She meets Eva and Eva tells her some truths. Stuff happens. Mostly just attraction and emotional porn, but some character stuff, too. Probably some badly hidden self insertion. 😏 It needs quite a bit of editing.

Everything is love (Dragon Peak). Isak’s POV. Isak joins the magic school Nissen. It’s a modern story with dragons. ❤️ The plans are to write 12 chapters and an epilogue. Well, I have written most of it, but I still have a few chapters to finish and it will need a lot of editing. This thing has quite a bit of wordlbuilding so it requires that all the facts work together, too. I really love this story and I have put it in the back of my drawer for too long. Time to make it happen.

If his bed could talk/ Hvis senga hans kunne snakke. A short strange thing, showing Isak’s story reflecded in his sorrounding. It’s basically lots of weird puns and too many repetitions. Idk if I will ever post it, to be honest. But it was really really fun to do. Still needs quite a bit of tough love. And if I ever post it, I might rewrite it in Norwegian. Well, to be honest I have already started. I think I need my mother tongue to make it work.

The Collab AU thing. @evakuality and I are planning to collaborate on something. 😍 It’s still a little early in the process, though, so I can’t say much about it. But it’s going to be fun!
