Jai Ki sneaking into her room late at night-
Kuai turning the lights on and turning in a chair- You want to tell me where you’ve been all night?
Jai Ki- Uhh...I-I was with Frost!
Frost turning in a chair- Wanna try again.
I HC that Skarlet owns a pet albino ferret named Scoundrel.
She found Scoundrel trying to steal food in the kitchen. Skarlet stopped the chef from killing him.
She immediately fell in love with her new furry noodle.
He’s as mischievous and playful as his mommy.
She lets him tag along on some missions. He rides on her shoulders.
She uses him to get into places she can’t. Like vents.
Scoundrel can cheer Skarlet up even in her most depressed moods.
The reason she dumped Reiko was because he hated scoundrel. It went like this:
Reiko: It’s either me or the rat Skarlet.
Skarlet: ....
*Skarlet drop kicks Reiko out of a window*
Skarlet: He’s not a rat. He’s a ferret.
Kuai Liang: Wearing red makes you more visible and this is a stealth mission.
Skarlet: Now why in the NeatherRealm would I want to hide all of this?

Kuai and Skarlet:

Not a lot of people might like this but screw it! Also this is mostly for my AU and the headcanons are random.
Nobody but Smoke knows this but Kuai has a thing for bad girls.
Good, rule following boys like him often fall for more dangerous girls like her.
Opposites attract, but they do have a lot in common. Both are intelligent, strong willed, and independent.
Both have had difficult lives and have lost their birth parents.
They were both raised to be assassins.
Both have also had to live in the shadows of their siblings.
Kuai with Bi-han, and Skarlet with her older adopted sister Kitana.
Plus you could cut their sexual tension with a sword.
They have a heated on and off romance.
They first met when Kuai was younger and still went by Tundra.
He was on his first independent mission. A powerful terrorist group leader paid for the Lin Kuei to steal a ancient and powerful relic.
It turns out Shang Tsung had sent Skarlet to retrieve the same relic for his experimentations.
When they stumbled upon each other Kuai was immediately distracted by her beauty and striking red hair.
This is because he’s a horny 19 year old and he lives in a temple with mostly guys and doesn’t get to see pretty girls often.
They start battling as she’s easyily able to fluster and distract him with her flirting.
She actually finds his nervousness quite adorable.
Skarlet ends up defeating him but spares him because in her own words:
Skarlet: “I’d bleed you out Blue Boy but…you are too much fun. Until we meet again cryomancer!” *blows him a kiss goodbye*
Kuai: *wipes blood from his mouth* “I have a feeling we will Red.”
She takes the relic and leaves back to Outworld. Kuai returns back to the Lin Kuei temple empty handed to which he gets punished harshly with manual labor.
They call each other Blue and Red.
Smoke immediately noticed their chemistry and teases his best friend about it all the time.
Smoke sometimes refers to Skarlet as “Kuai’s Lady in red.” Much to Kuai’s annoyance.
Skarlet loves herself a sexy nobel stoic. It’s so much fun to try and crack that stern exterior.
He acts like he doesn’t like her advances but he’s just playing hard to get.
Skarlet’s playful personality helps loosen Kuai up a bit.
Her humor has made him crack a smile under his mask multiple times.
She’s even made him laugh on rare occasions too!
He keeps her more grounded and brings out her kinder side.
Despite what she says she does admire his heroic and honorable nature. It inspires her to try to be a better person.
They aren’t afraid to call each other on other’s bullshit.
Skarlet will call Kuai on his coldness and hypocrisy.
And Kuai will call her on selfishness and addiction.
In the beginning of their complicated relationship Skarlet believed Kuai was just trying to play the knight in shining armor who wished to tame her and make her obedient.
Kuai has always been more disciplined so in truth he finds her untamed nature to be very appealing.
With time they both start to open up to each other a little more and trust one another more.
He tries to discourages her use of Blood Magik.
Kuai knows her addiction to blood and Blood Magik is slowly killing her and it is Shao Kahn’s fault.
He knows that everything wrong with her is Shao Kahn’s fault. Shao Kahn took a scared orphan and corrupted her into his bloody daughter.
He sympathizes with her because of this and still believes she could be a good person.
He also accepts her bisexuality because he isn’t a bigot.
What he finds most physically attractive about her is her blood red hair and eyes. He had never met anyone like that before and found it to be beautifully unique.
During date she has a habit of picking off his plate. When he asked why she just told him his food always tastes better.
Sometimes she’ll just randomly go to Earthrealm and break into the Lin Kuei temple to visit him.
Skarlet: You should train your followers to be more vigilant Grandmaster.
Kuai: You shouldn’t be here Red. Aren’t you supposed to be helping Mileena?
Skarlet: Don’t be so cold Blue. You know I always come back to you.
He’s beginning to get used to it.
Nobody knows about her secret visits except of course Kuai’s Wing-Men Smoke and Sareena.
She tries to keep the subject of Outworld Civil War between Kitana and Mileena out of their relationship.
Raiden decided not to allow Earthrealm into it since it was still rebuilding from Shinnok’s invasion.
Kuai can’t help himself from bringing it up though. He tries to convince her to defect from Mileena and join Kitana. This is where 99% of their fights are caused.
She tells him that Mileena could be a great ruler with her own guidance. She says that she could convince Mileena to make a nonaggression pact with the Earthrealmers.
Kuai of course remains unconvinced.
She’ll leave after a heated argument and he’ll miss her for a couple of months only for her to randomly show up again.
It’s kinda toxic but the passionate make up sex is 100/10.
When she defected from Mileena’s forces to Kitanas he helped her with the guilt of betraying Mileena.
She felt that betraying Mileena also betrayed Shao Kahn’s legacy.
Kuai along with Kitana helped her accept that Shao Kahn was only using her and from the moment he met her, he only saw her as a potential weapon.
After the Outworld civil war she leaves Outworld for a while because she’s a bit messed up from it.
Kuai offers to let her stay at the temple for a couple months. So that he could make sure she remains on the right path.
Of course Smoke and Sareena where unconvinced that this was his only intention.
Sareena: I’m so happy that your lover is staying with us. She’s quite funny.
Kuai: She’s not my lover Sareena. She is here for rehabilitation purposes.
Smoke: So was the noises I was hearing from your room last night, Rehabilitation?”
*Sareena and Smoke laugh while Kuai blushes deeply*
Kuai: “...enough...”
After they make love he always holds her close and strokes her hair. It relaxes him and he keeps her cool on the hot Outworld nights.
Skarlet is the top in the bedroom, she’s way more experienced than him. He’s a very giving lover.
Skarlet has had many lovers in her life. Some more important than others but she sees Kuai as special.
He’s the lover who made the most impact on her and closest one who came to tying her down.
Skarlet is my 2nd favorite female Mk character and I’ll be making more headcanons about her soon.
Kuai Honghua WIP
Kuai Liang and Skarlet’s daughter. I HC Skarlet as being unable to bear children due to Blood Magic, but this prospect was too good to pass up on. Thanks @inicecoldblood for putting the idea forward
While neither of her parents pressured her into joining the ways of Kombat, Honghua vowed to become stronger than her them.
I like the idea of Skarlet wearing a red t-shirt with the Netflix logo and Kuai with a blue t-shirt with the word “Chill” in the Netflix font as a costume for Halloween. It’s too perfect lol

Skarlet loves marking Kuai, whether or it’s love bites, bites, scratches, or even just a ton of lipstick marks on his face.
Before Skarlet moved in with Kuai she loved visiting him, they’d plan it a week in advance and she’d look forward to it, it’d be the highlight of her day.
Kuai always keeps his Grandmaster Cabin clean but during the week Skarlet comes over he makes sure the entire cabin is spotless, he cares much more than she does but he always makes sure it’s cleaner the week she’s coming than the one week she is.
Kuai makes sure to book weeks during the year just to have a mini-vacation with Skarlet. Leaving Bi-Han and Smoke in charge.
Skarlet was surprised on how sleeping in the same bed with Kuai that he’s surprisingly warm, she loves feeling his warmth when sleeping/ cuddling with him.
