Skate Party Skaterday in the Park - Cruiser boards and inline skates
Do you remember the 21st of September, when we went skating through Kirby Park and along the dyke in Wilkes Barre?
Unfortunately, Jami couldn't make it to the park for our weekly Skate Party, so Andrea and I headed up to Wilkes Barre for a sesh in the park, taking advantage of the downhill sections and paved paths for a great time. Stay tuned until the end for some outtakes and a visit from a cool praying mantis!
As you'll notice, I'm riding a slightly different setup than usual. I recently did a truck transplant, moving the trucks from my 27-inch Goldcoast board to the Razor board I've been using to practice ollies. I like the extra length of the popsicle stick style board and it's helped me gain a little extra confidence as I attempt slides, extra deep carves, manuals, ollies and drop-ins. In fact, you'll see my first-ever attempt to drop in on an downhill ramp in this video. It took a few tries while hanging onto a guardrail to really get the hang of it, but once I did, I was fine. I actually don't get too many opportunities to try it, so I've never had to do it, before.
