I rewatched TBOL and decided to work on my stylization/revamp my designs for Jorge, Carmelo, and Anita
“If she’s this dedicated as a thumb-sucking toddler, she’ll grow up to be a BEAST!”
A little comic of my favorite Sanchez ancestors about the first time Anita pretended to be a boy in order to participate in fighting thousand pound bulls. And no one’s capable of denying that face. Click for captions
college au carmelo!
originally dropped out of college after his freshman year, he’s come back to give it another try!
(since this au is done in a human world, having him as jorge’s dad wouldn’t have really made sense, so in this au he’s his son)
One thing that bothered me in TBoL that I don't think I've seen anyone else discuss is the way Jorge calls Carmelo a savage multiple times and it's supposed to be funny and/or endearing
And before I go on let me say I loved the film for the most part. I've gone to watch it more than once
Keep in mind that their designs are meant to evoke conquistadores and Mesoamerican civilizations, respectively. I don't claim to be an expert on the relationship between those groups and their descendants, but this whole thing seems kinda messed up
Visual aid: I don't think the British had anything quite equivalent to conquistadores, so just picture a stereotypical colonial soldier calling a stereotypical Native American a savage and everyone just having a big laugh about it
kinda sequel to this
i have officially entered skeleton hell god dammit
Frida Suarez and Skeleton Carmelo bonding over churro's. That is all.
