#56: Skeleton Lords (Dark Souls 2)

This is an interesting one. I have to dock it points for being a mob fight, but the unique implementation puts it above a lot of the worse mob fights in the series. The way you have agency in structuring the boss fight by deciding whether you'd rather have the lords out of the way and face more skeletons at once or leave some of the lords alive while you deal with the basic enemies as they pop up is kinda neat and certainly makes it stand out (the only other fight with a similar decision making process is much further up on this list) in a good way. That said, it still sucks having to fight a bunch of skeletons so I can't put it up higher than this. Points for creativity and great music though!

My height headcanons for the Skeleton Lords from tallest to shortest because why not:

Gideon Graymarrow is the tallest.

Captain Grimm and Red Ruth have the same height and are the second tallest skeleton lords followed closely by Old Horatio and Warden Chi.

Of the Fort Bosses the Duchess' is the shortest if you don't count her hairstyle, haha. If the Two-Faced Scoundrel had better posture he'd be taller than the Mutinous Helmsman.

After those three comes Captain Briggsy.

The Gold Hoarder is slightly taller than Captain Flameheart. Flameheart is the shortest Skeleton Lord. Bless him.

Both the Skeleton Lords and the Executioner are cousins of the Old Iron King, to whom he gave positions of power mostly out of nepotism.
